Europe Minor Closed Qualifier - IEM Katowice 2019ex-Space Soldiers, ENCE to Europe Minor
ex-Space Soldiers and ENCE are through to the Europe Minor after defeating x-kom and HEROIC, respectively, in the closed qualifier.
ex-Space Soldiers and x-kom began their best-of-three series on Train where the CT-sided Polish team won the pistol thanks to Grzegorz "jedqr" Jędras's double kill. ex-Space Soldiers took the lead after losing the first two rounds with triple and quad kills by Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş .
After the Turkish team finished the half 11-4 ahead, x-kom won the second pistol with a 5vs5 retake. Just like in the first half, after the Poles took the first two rounds, XANTARES took matters into his own hand, helping his team close out the map 16-7 with four multi-kill rounds in the second half.
The second map, Cache, saw x-kom get seven rounds on the CT-side in the first half. Oskar "oskarish" Stenborowski & co. had a 14-11 lead in the second half but ex-Space Soldiers came back to take the game to overtime.
ex-Space Soldiers won the map 19-17 to take the 2-0 series victory. With this win, the Turkish side have booked their place at the Europe Minor.

Meanwhile, HEROIC took on ENCE. The CT-sided Finns took the pistol victory on Mirage thanks to Jani "Aerial" Jussila's quad kill and made it 4-0 after Sami "xseveN" Laasanen won a 1vs1. Aleksi "allu" Jalli & company secured the first 14 rounds in the match but couldn’t make it a perfect half as they lost a 4vs3 in the 15th round.
The second pistol, featuring a knife kill by Jere "sergej" Salo, concluded in ENCE's favor and Aerial wrapped up the game in the following round with a triple kill as his team won 16-1.
ENCE kicked off Overpass by claiming the first three round wins on the T-side. Even though HEROIC responded by taking five in a row, ENCE finished the half 10-5 in front after going on a seven round streak.
The Finnish squad closed out the map without much trouble, winning it 16-7. With this result, ENCE have qualified for the Europe Minor.
