Astralis roll over FaZe in BLAST Pro Series opener

Astralis won their opening match at BLAST Pro Series Lisbon against FaZe on Dust2, 16-4, to score their first three points.

Dust2 started off with Astralis taking the first pistol round on the defense as Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth opened the round up with a double with a flash assist from Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander. The Danes then swept FaZe in the anti-eco. An opening AWP pick by Ladislav "⁠GuardiaN⁠" Kovács on Long gave FaZe the A site, on which they planted after a double by Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač to go on and win the third round.

The European combine then made their way to A through short the following round, but Astralis held long and were able to win a 4vs3 retake. The following gun round went the way of Astralis after gla1ve opened up the round and Emil "⁠Magisk⁠" Reif made it a 5vs3 after two headshots in the B Halls.

Astralis kept steamrolling over FaZe, as Magisk had a huge ace stopping two players wrapping around mid to B and three trying to take the site from Halls. FaZe were finally able to get back on the board in the ninth round as Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen won a 1vs1 after-plant. Astralis then reset the Terrorists by stopping a B push long enough to make the timer run out. Another huge B defense by Magisk gave his team another round, as Astralis ran off with the half, 12-3.

The Danes then won the second pistol round with a play towards the B site as Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen cleared the way with a triple kill. They then slowly played around Short and Long before making an A hit to neutralize FaZe who had force bought. Aggressive play by FaZe on another forcebuy worked out for them, as they were able to steal a round, but Astralis went back to dominating the map the following round, getting on match point. Finally, the Danes closed it out the following round, 16-4.
