Astralis take down Cloud9 to keep perfect record

Astralis went 5-0 in the round-robin stage of BLAST Pro Series Lisbon after taking down Cloud9 16-14 on Inferno.

The final round of the round-robin stage began with the prospect of a three-way tie at the top in case Cloud9 beat Astralis, and Natus Vincere beat MIBR.

The North American team got off to a great start to the game, jumping out to a 4-1 lead on the CT side of the map. The landscape of the game then changed dramatically as Astralis took control of proceedings, with the Danish side shutting down any chances of their opponents stringing rounds together to close out the half with a 9-6 lead.

Astralis beat C9 to set up a final against Na`Vi

Cloud9 kept their hopes alive with a successful B push on the back of a trio of kills by William "RUSH" Wierzba. Astralis were at this point were already through to the final, but they refused to let their foot off the gas after getting money in the bank, stringing five rounds together to bring the scoreline to 14-9.

Ismail "refrezh" Ali finally woke up and helped his team to make a comeback with a couple of multi-kill rounds. Astralis then surprisingly hit match point in an eco round following three kills from Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, but they could not deal the finishing blow. Cloud9 kept pressing on and took the game all the way to the 30th round, only to see the Danes prevail - a result that sets up a mouth-watering clash for the title decider in Lisbon between the current No.1 and No.3 teams in the world.

Yeah its quite stupid having round difference as a thing but then going to h2h when you only play each other once because unless its a draw then round difference is irrelevant

Navi don't deserve this final. I think C9 would do better. Going to really enjoy watching Navi get slammed

Cloud9 has to offer a contract for refrezh now. Guy did great. Probably just added his value by 20% atleast during this event.

Well I expect a larger rotation during this break so I'm guessing somebody could get lifted off to another team perhaps? I think a lot of it comes down to the rumored mibr rotation. How does Cloud9 and Liquid respond to that? C9 is in kind of a flux right now? There isn't really a solid core anymore. Like it's just automatic and RUSH trying to keep the team going with people going in and out. So my guess is, with the right swaps and such, that they could settle for a younger lineup and build a team core over a year or two. Auti and RUSH, refrezh, flusha (perhaps?) and then a young american talent. Something along those lines. Rebuild from scratch rather than patching holes all the time..

-Rush maybe but I'll guess they'll wait and see how things go with golden and kio in the lineup. If golden is still out refrezh must keep playing. He did really good here
