The European Nations Championship Finals 2009 will take place at gamescom in Cologne, Germany.

The season will be entering the relegation stage this week, seeing Germany, Denmark, France and Norway, battle for two spots, to the finals. Four teams will just like the previous season be battling out, who will be crowned ENC 2009 champions. 

All of the action will be held at the gamescom trade fair, in Cologne, Germany. The finals will take place 19-23th of August, with a total prize purse of €6,000 for Counter-Strike 1.6. First place will take €4,000, while €2,000 will go to the silver medalists.

6k is nothing. For a competition this big, 4000 euros for the winning team is a slap to the face :) hotel + plane tickets cost more haha

Obviously, but that's not what I meant. Looking at gamegune 2009 prizes: 1st place 12,000 euro, and for 2nd - 6000 euro. This is just a comparison, but last year's ENC's budget was 27,000 euro just for CS 1.6, and this year there is 15,000 euro's for CS 1.6, CS:Source, Warcraft 3 and FIFA 2009. From SK: Counter-Strike 1.6 (€27,000 in 2008) 1st Place - €4,000 2nd Place - €2,000 Counter-Strike: Source (€10,000 in 2008) 1st Place - €2,000 Euro 2nd Place - €1,000 Euro Warcraft 3 (€10,000in 2008) 1st Place - €2,000 Euro 2nd Place - €1,000 Euro FIFA 2009 (€7,500 in 2008) 1st Place - €2,000 Euro 2nd Place - €1,000 Euro

Isn't that what I'm saying? Though I doubt the national teams have sponsors.. I think ESL will pay it, it's only 4 teams.
