Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik has confirmed that he will spend some time on MIBR's bench until a decision is made on his future.

The ELEAGUE Major Boston MVP officially stepped down from MIBR's starting lineup on Saturday as the team unveiled João "⁠felps⁠" Vasconcellos to complete a full Brazilian roster after previously replacing Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip with Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo.

tarik spent just six months with MIBR, helping the team to win the ZOTAC Cup Masters and to reach the final at BLAST Pro Series Istanbul and at the ECS Season 6 Finals.

tarik unsure of his future

But despite the team's lack of silverware, tarik insists that he has no regrets about leaving Cloud9 for MIBR, believing that it was "a unique and thrilling opportunity".

"I knew that joining MIBR was a risk and unfortunately it didn’t pan out," he wrote. "Some difficulties in language and culture, but most importantly a clash of play styles brought it to an abrupt end.

Although it was short-lived, it was an honor to play with the legends. I have no regrets, everything happens for a reason."

The North American player also admitted that he does not know what the future holds for him and vowed to work to improve himself during his time away from action.

"At this time I'll be sitting out with MIBR, streaming and working further on my personal game, until another opportunity arises," he added.

"Thank you to all of my fans who've followed me since the beginning, and especially thanks to the fans of Brazil for accepting me in open arms, you are all incredible."

He doesnt care about the game he just cares about looking good Karrigan took the hard route and is playing with envy, dude loves the game and wants to win, massive respect to karrigan. Envy is just a small step to not allow his market value decrease. He's gonna end up in Optic more likely. Snappi's squad has been a total failure till this point and Karrigan is a clear upgrade

Playing for Envy is a massive risk in karrigans position and he would probably not play if he could abstain. It's much more likely that FaZe does not want to sell karrigan before the major to their competitors, so they lent him to a team that can't compete with FaZe because the owners of FaZe and Envy both stem from CoD and probably have a good working relationship. So it's probably more of a favor thing towards Envy, rather than karrigans decision, and because he would prefer to eventually get sold rather than sit on the bench (which FaZe can easily afford) he goes along with it to not sour his relations with the FaZe owners.

I agree that's like you describe it from Faze's and Envy's position. However I don't think it's a risk for Karrigan. What's the worst thing that can happen? Envy not going through Americas minor? They were not going through anyway so I don't think there's too much to lose for him there. And also if they pull off the miracle and get to the Major all credit will go to karrigan for carrying a horrible team to a Major. That's how I see it

The thing is, karrigan is already sought after by the teams he would want to play for outside of FaZe, so playing for Envy doesn't help him at all because it can only go as expected (poorly) or he takes the team a step further and he still gets bought by the same team he would have gone to regardless. I also know a lot of people say he's gonna play for OpTic but I wouldn't rule out North entirely.

karrigan is so far beyond the skill level of either Heroic or ex-fragsters without refrezh i dont even know why you'd bring it up. So yes i'm gonna say thats a longshot because its just unnecessarily downgrading your own career for no discernible reason, karrigan is not that attached to danish teams to begin with. He's either gonna play for OpTic, North or another international roster. He's not going to a 3rd-4th level danish team.

Actually the Fragsters trio is a really good group. Torben is a really underrated support and if they bring in niko they could hit top 30 since Dragonfly isn't an IGL and has more room to work and he's already nuts as is. Heroic has the pieces for a good roster if they drop Acillion for Karrigan. They do pretty well as is but with Karrigan they'd reach much higher potential if he can drill mertz into a more rounded player. It isn't about the current level of the team but the potential with Karrigan. Tarik joining MiBR was a downgrade but it had potential. Might not always pan out but sometimes the risk is worth it. Plus both are upgrades from EnVy. That team will be shit unless they kick JDM and bring on someone like TenZ and have Nifty AWP

I understand your point and while I agree they could achieve everything you're saying, karrigans goal is not top 30. His goal is to join and lead a team capable of winning majors and starting at Top 30 is not worth the time investment at his age and it's a massive risk of him being lost in obscurity and getting forgotten, he clearly has options in the top 20 and arguably top 10 teams in the world, so why would he go to a team 'only' to reach top 30. Envy is a temporary stand-in thing so where the fragsters squad are in comparison to Envy is pretty much irrelevant.

Completely agree but my point is more upgrading from Envy to a team with potential then establish himself as still being a capable player. Right now there are no international mixes that would want him as the only good mixes are FaZe and Mouz so trying to work his way through the Danish scene again is his best option and Envy is certainly not a good enough team for him in the long run

Sure thing but I dont think he has to go that far down the ranks to be a wanted IGL, yes other teams have IGLs but they are not irreplaceable, some of them are just IGLs out of necessity. Everything right now says that OpTic aren't happy because they have the good pieces and Snappi have not done anything with them, the other option is North which has been underwhelming. I also wouldn't rule out a possible move to NRG, mouz or Liquid, though much less likely.

NRG I wouldn't see as it was built around daps and the team wants him as an igl. I would rather see him in optic or north but I wouldn't rule out heroic or ex fragsters. There's so many different options right now it's hard to really figure either out. I doubt optic will change again so soon after adding refrezh and who knows with north as I wouldn't be surprised if kjaerbye left for a team like ex fragsters since I'm they're much better

Thing is I just don't think karrigan will contract himself to a lesser team just for the sake of playing, and you're also forgetting that FaZe have long contracts with expensive buyouts, there is no way ex-fragsters without an org can buy him out to begin with, and they probably won't get an org willing to buy karrigan. Heroic probably don't have the money or don't want to spend it since they purchased the brand quite recently. mouz would probably not want to do another buyout right now because of the snax loss, but OpTic, North, NRG and C9 should all make offers to him, especially OpTic and C9.

Money wise only OpTic, NRG and C9 really have the money to do those kind of buyouts. Depending on when his contract ends is when I would see him playing for the sake of playing with a team. Contracts escaped my mind. I have no argument here

Or, what actually happened, is that CoL lowballed him on pay, and when he called them out, they told him that worst case scenario they could just put s0m in the active LAN roster. They didn’t need him bad enough to pay out. THAT is what actually happened.
