somedieyoung: "We want to have a rematch against AVANGAR"
After Spirit eliminated Gambit from the CIS Minor, Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev gave us an interview about the team's run so far in Poland.
Spirit have so far secured at least a top-three position at the CIS Minor after beating Gambit 2-0 in the lower bracket final on the fourth day of the tournament.

In our interview with sdy, we went back to find out what went wrong for the team against AVANGAR in the upper bracket semi-final series, where Spirit could not contest their opponents, and what the team would do should they meet them again in the consolidation final for a spot at the IEM Katowice Major.
Since I didn't get to talk to you before at this tournament, can you tell me about how you looked at the competition at the CIS Minor beforehand, with Winstrike and Gambit falling here after the last Major?
As you say, there are a lot of strong teams here right now at the tournament, so we prepared for every team here. We knew what we could do and we're doing our best.
Going back to the groups, you won both matches, but both Nemiga and Syman held you to very close scorelines, how confident were you for the playoffs after that?
Our confidence was at the same level as when we came here because it doesn't matter if it was overtime or not, we knew we were going to win those matches anyway.
You got outclassed by AVANGAR in the upper bracket semi-final, what went wrong in that match?
AVANGAR were really good in this match, they played well. They prepared for us, we saw a lot of counter rounds so we couldn't show our game in that match. But that wasn't the only problem, our mental problems came back and that's why we lost it, but we fixed it that day and we are ready for everything now.
What kind of mental problems are you talking about?
People were struggling, we weren't playing as a team, we were playing one by one.
With what mindset did you go into today's match against Gambit and how did the match go in the end?
Like on the first day, we already knew we were going to win this game, even if we lost some clutches and stupid rounds, it wouldn't stop us. We always believed in ourselves and we played well, we knew what they were going to do, so we countered them and that helped us a lot.
I remember from the FACEIT Major that you talked about countering opponents, so do you do that regularly at this level too?
If it's a big match like that, we prepare a lot and we watch a lot of demos and analyze a lot of rounds.
Tell me about the last match, do you have any preference as to who you'd like to meet between AVANGAR and Winstrike?
I don't think it matters, if it's AVANGAR, we want to have a rematch against them, so maybe that's the only thing, I don't really care if it's going to be AVANGAR or Winstrike, it's the same for me.
If it is AVANGAR, how are you going to approach that match differently?
We will change a lot of things and we're going to make a different playstyle in that match.
