Our video editor Filip "filq" Szatkowski has put together a video with some of the best moments from the players who made our Top 20 ranking of 2018, powered by EGB.com.

The start of a new year brings with it our top 20 player ranking, and 2019 was no exception. From January 1-20, we revealed the players who shined the most in 2018 with a series of in-depth features breaking down individual performance over the year and explaining our reasoning behind their ranking selection.

This year we revealed the top two players spots on the same day, with Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev beating off competition from Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz for the No.1 spot after a close race.

The highlight movie takes us down memory lane as we look back at a historic year, compiled in almost 20 minutes with jarring performances from players who impressed the most in 2018, hailing from 13 different countries.

Yes no HLTV threads = dev2ce wins.

Tgwri1s is one of the most objective and honest on HLTV. S1mple deserved that #1 spot like no one other... 100% honesty from Tgwri1s.

Just danish fanboy would not agreed with that, one thing is playing in a team with all the players figuring the top15 and another completely different to carry a team with a one top10 player, one good player and two bots... btw Electronic #4 is the only bs on this top20, should be at least 7+

I agree with that. mainly because of device’s performance at the last events were phenomenal and at the other hand s1mple wasn’t that brilliant as ihe was at the first half of the year, but IMO s1mple reached the highest level ever performed in csgo, he was literally a one man army destroying everyone!

Nikolai "Barely gets the MVP" Reedtz didn't deserve it at all. He's honestly very good and reminds me of other no. 1 players in the past like Cold and Olof. But, S1mple was too much of a god.

Why did you put so poor songs on the video? You need to hype it, lad. With electric songs. Like Unlike Pluto part was. The song that was being playing at Oskar’s part is so depressive, I almost kms. It should be based on the overall rating. It's about individuals so shouldn't you just be looking at the green line? I mean, what a bs that the whole entire Astralis roster is up there... OK they dominated 2018 but that doens't mean they have the best individual players? That is my opinion at least haha but who am I to say that.

I'm a s1mple fan too, and I don't like dev1ce's personal performance; but he deserved number 1! He got 10 golden medal (1 is major), 2 silver medal and 3 bronze medal. Also he got 7 mvp award in one year, that's amazing! This unbreakable record must be number 1!
