FaZe send compLexity packing in Atlanta

FaZe have eliminated Complexity after defeating the North American side 2-0 in the lower bracket final at the ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational (16-12 on Train and 16-2 on Cache).

The best-of-three series began on Train, where the T-sided FaZe picked up the pistol round victory with a 4vs4 post-plant win. Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač sealed the following round with a quad kill while Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer's entry kill in the third round made it 3-0.

Shahzeb "⁠ShahZaM⁠" Khan and Ricardo "⁠Rickeh⁠" Mulholland stepped up in the fourth round as both players got double kills to put their team on the scoreboard (3-1). FaZe responded by winning six rounds in a row, during the course of which Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard got ten kills (9-1).

The European side finished the first half 11-4 ahead and kicked off the second half by winning the pistol round as NiKo got two opening kills to help the defense. FaZe extended their lead to 14-4 after winning the first weapon round but Complexity won a 3vs5 in the following round to stop the streak.

Complexity slowly crept back in to the game but the potential of a comeback became apparent in the 25th round when Rory "⁠dephh⁠" Jackson and ShahZaM found themselves in a 2vs5 and won thanks to dephh's quad kill and 1vs1 clutch (14-11). NiKo & company remained unfazed and closed out the game with a 16-12 scoreline.

Complexity had a good start on Cache as they found two entry kills in the pistol round on the T-side. However, NiKo showed up with a quad kill to steal the round. Complexity won their first in the seventh round but got reset after losing the following one (7-1).

FaZe ended the half with a 13-2 lead as NiKo had more kills than the entire Complexity lineup, with the Bosnian player posting 26 kills and the North American squad getting 22.

olofmeister made it 14-2 after picking up a quad kill in a 3vs5 in the second pistol. rain's quad kill in the following round gave FaZe 13 match points and the European side finished off the map 16-2, winning the series 2-0 and surviving at ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational.
