Winstrike crush Envy in Katowice

After beating Envy 16-4 on Overpass, Winstrike have booked their spot in the IEM Katowice Minor Play-in upper bracket final, where they will take on ViCi.

Overpass was the map of the match between Winstrike and Envy, and it started with the Russians picking up their Terrorist pistol on the back of a triple-kill from Aurimas "⁠Kvik⁠" Kvakšys in a 2v4 situation. After building up their economy, Josh "⁠jdm64⁠" Marzano and co. responded with a flawless gun round in which the American AWPer found a clean triple-kill, 1-3.

However, Envy were immediately reset by Winstrike, who saw their youngster David "⁠n0rb3r7⁠" Danielyan add a quick trio of kills to his name. Kirill "⁠Boombl4⁠" Mikhailov's troops would not back down from that moment, and went on to take a 8-1 lead.

In part thanks to jdm64 stepping up to the plate, Envy managed to win a trio of consecutive rounds to reduce the deficit to 4-8, but that was all she wrote for them in the first half.

With a clean quad-kill from Kvik in B, Winstrike won their second pistol, forcing Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen to instantly call for a tactical pause. Still, Envy simply could not find a way through Winstrike's defense, with the Russian squad eventually sealing the deal with a flawless CT side, 16-4.
