In our next interview from the IEM Katowice Major, we reflected on Ninjas in Pyjamas's run, which came to an end in the quarter-finals at the hands of Astralis, with Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg.

The veteran commented on keeping the team's spirits high during the quarter-finals debacle on Mirage, where the Swedes ended up denying Astralis a 16-0 victory with a pistol round win in the second half.

Although the big Mirage loss stings now, during the match f0rest was keeping spirits high as NiP denied Astralis a 16-0 win

Despite that, Ninjas in Pyjamas managed to stay competitive on Dust2, which is normally a map they always ban, so we also asked f0rest about how much preparation the team put in on the map ahead of the match.

The 30-year-old closed out our interview with some thoughts on his team's overall performance at the Major and improving from a group stage exit at the FACEIT Major.

Sure you’re right, but with same lineup you can expect a high level performance as in 2017. Furthermore now with zews all personal issues can be solved better. However nip are looking much better now but they need more players to step up their game than just only forest and Rez

That 30 year old is the only one on NiP with the promise and potential to be a top 20 player this year. REZ has moments of greatness but is barely more consistent than Lekr0. Meanwhile the other veterans on the team (GTR and Dennis) can't seem to perform at a high level at all anymore. It's time for roster changes. Build a new Swedish team around f0rest, REZ, Krimz and Flusha.

Not really. I would say build up nip with a core of f0rest rez and gtr. Gtr moved towards a supportive role, ofc he wont topfrag everygame, and seeing his performance at the major, it was pretty good

Promise? This lineup will never be good enough to challenge Astralis. Sweden has the talent but it's spread across multiple teams and will never come together when players like f0rest delude themselves like this.

Well, it is an improvement from the last major, and skipping the last 3 years of major. They met the soon-to-be-champion winner Astralis in the quarterfinal, and with the 16-14 on the Astralis' map, they showed some promise. Well, some, not a good promise.

He did everything for them, entry frags, clutching, impact kills etc. He was their best player when he was there. He only got kicked because the management somehow thought that Lekr0 is an insane talent and they removed draken citing a difference in playstyle. In fnatic he was bad though, but that whole team was iffy and it never seemed to click for anyone but KRiMZ in that lineup.

Lekro was forced to take the Igl duties and he is improving. Still surely a better fragger than Gtr, whom you didn't mention(why?) Gtr and his ego makes a lot of mislays, he is the most unreliable player for NiP rn

GTR had some up and downs but dennis and lekro were literally useless most of the time. It would have been another groupstage exit without the sick performances of Rez and forest .... it didnt really look like a good team performance, it was always Rez and / or forest hard carry the rest dunno :(
