draken to stand in for dennis in NiP

The Swedish organization Ninjas in Pyjamas announced that Dennis "⁠dennis⁠" Edman would "take some time off", and that they would use William "⁠draken⁠" Sundin at upcoming tournaments.

In the official announcement, Ninjas in Pyjamas revealed that dennis has been "experiencing some energy fatigue due to heavy scheduling over the last period of time", and with that in mind, and a busy schedule coming up, they decided to give him some time off.

draken will be wearing the NiP jersey again

dennis will "undergo further medical examination" in the upcoming days, but it is unknown how long Ninjas in Pyjamas plan to keep him on the sidelines. In the meantime, they will be using their former member draken, who will assume the position of the primary AWPer in the team. draken has recently been playing alongside Hampus "⁠hampus⁠" Poser and Adil "⁠ScreaM⁠" Benrlitom in Uruguay, but has announced that he is now leaving the project.

Ninjas in Pyjamas put forward the following statement about the move:

"Our player, Dennis “dennis” Edman, has been experiencing some energy fatigue due to heavy scheduling over the last period of time. In order to prevent this from escalating, we have mutually agreed for Dennis to take some time off to recover before returning to competitive play. The upcoming schedule for the Counter-Strike team is heavy, and we do not want to take any risks with regards to our players’ health. Dennis will undergo further medical examination in the upcoming days, and we are looking forward to seeing him return once he is ready to compete again.

"As Dennis recovers, we will be welcoming a familiar face to the Ninjas in Pyjamas active roster for the upcoming events. We are pleased to announce that we have found a good replacement in William “draken” Sundin, who will be taking on the AWP-role for the Ninjas in Pyjamas. During William’s last tenure with NiP, we saw a resurgence with us ultimately lifting the IEM Oakland trophy. We are looking forward to seeing our boys compete during the upcoming events, and will keep all our fans updated on the progress of Dennis."

Why would they take smooya over draken? He's just as toxic as draken, plus he doesn't speak Swedish (I know they all speak good English, but that's not the point). The problem is if one of the top swedish teams comes calling the swedish players will leave instantly, just like what happened with draken. Same for the "frenchies". If G2 or Vitality come calling, Ex6 or ScreaM will leave without question. This team is doomed to fail because they have good enough players that cant get into the top team in their region at the moment but have no organisation willing to put money up, offer them contracts and sponsor them. Unless they get backing by a big org, there's nothing to tie these players down. Its the same with NoChance and frozen. They are all basically waiting around for the offers to come.

If I had an org I think Ex6tenz would be one of the first free agents I would pick. Not because he is good but because he has a vision. ScreaM is one of the best aimers in the game and with some stern leadership he could become tier 1 player again. I was sceptical about adding Hampus as a support player but so far he has looked better than ever. HS is a bit like ScreaM but not as big name. He got the aim, he got the reaction time but not the position in and team play. But that is easy to Train through practice. If x6tance galaxy would pick them up HS would be replaced by Plopski and nawwk would finally have a possibility to carry a team to tier 1

draken is still more talented than either of those guys. nawwk is inexperienced. Maikelele has tons of experience but I believe draken is a star player, Maikelele is not. nawwk is a newcomer and has tons to learn. I also think that they made the move because they are all familiar with draken and won their last Big Event together with him. So it makes sense to churn out a few online (ECS) matches together with draken and get in tip-top shape for BLAST Pro Series and learn a few things from there. Then they'll definitely have a crack at the StarSeries which is just a week after the BLAST event.

Nawwk is extremely talented, many are saying it but he could be the next real up and coming Swedish thing. That logic is more reasonable, but regardless short and longterm Maikelele may be better, though I'll concede nawwk may not be good to pick up with their schedule at the moment.

Talking about Uruguay and NoChance does not make sense at all. It's a fact that draken has attended more top tier events over the course of 2017 and 2018 than Maikelele has. draken was just unlucky because Red Reserve's roster fell apart and hampus left. The team at Uruguay is just a European mix which never really stood a chance anyway. NoChance is at least a team that has been around for longer and has some structure.

draken has attended more LANs than Maikelele sure... except he has an average 1.02 rating last year on LAN. Maikelele is a better and more consistent player. NoChance has been around not that much longer than drake has been out of Fnatic, and drake was only better than Maikelele for a short while just after he left Fnatic. NoChance is an EU Mix as well, stop using one thing to give excuses for one team then take away the other players value for the exact same thing it's pretty hypocritical?

Stop making excuses for Uruguay, they're a poor team anyways. NoChance are in a better place because they have the better players, a better leader. Just because draken comes from the worse team does not give him the advantage. Maikelele hasn't played Top CS as he hasn't been in a team to prove that, nowadays NoChance are probably going to be the next EU Mix team signed by an organization and he's already closing back in on Top Tier CS. Meanwhile draken? Constant LAN failure and shunned out of his top teams for attitude, play style, and personality issues. Maikelele > Draken on any team nowadays, the only team I'd put draken on over Maikelele is Ancient so he can play under prone and hopefully calm his tits because he isn't a god.

I don't know what this team is doing, it's almost like some sort of disrespect when they announce these former teammates to stand-in, like maikelele and now draken like "yeah we dont want you anymore, but would you like to be our stand-in for a while?" and ofc because these players are in absolute no-mans land of swedish CS they obviously have to take the offer in hopes to either get re-added to the team or marketing themselves towards other teams like fnatic or international teams.

I think this is more of a new trial for Draken than about giving some time off to Dennis. Hopefully Draken has become a more calm and mature player and makes it work this time, just by playing at the same level he did before but not missing all those easy shots he will be a massive improvement over Dennis.
