North knock out MIBR; NiP eliminate ViCi in Shanghai

North defeated MIBR 2-0 to send the Brazilians packing while Ninjas in Pyjamas knocked out ViCi after beating them in two maps at StarSeries i-League Season 7.

The elimination game between North and MIBR kicked off on Overpass, where the T-sided Brazilians won the pistol round thanks to Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo's double kill. North got on the scoreboard in the third round as Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller picked up two kills in a 2vs2 (2-1).

After MIBR went on a three-round streak to lead 5-1, North secured their second round thanks to Philip "⁠aizy⁠" Aistrup and Nicklas "⁠gade⁠" Gade's double kills (5-2). aizy picked up a triple kill with the AUG, giving North their sixth round and the lead (6-5).

North finished the half with a 10-5 lead thanks to their nine-round streak, which they kept alive after winning the second half pistol. North's run came to an end in the 19th round when Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo defused the bomb in a 1vs1 situation. The Brazilians were able to reach double digits but North closed it out in the 26th round after cadiaN picked up an AWP triple kill (16-10).

FalleN started Inferno with a triple kill in the pistol round as the CT-sided MIBR went ahead. MIBR's 4-1 lead gradually slipped away and North eventually tied the game at 6-6 after winning a 3vs5. North were 9-6 in front at halftime off the back of a five-round run.

The Danes made it six in a row after taking the second pistol round victory, leading 10-6. MIBR won only two rounds on the T-side as North finished it off with a 16-8 victory. With the 2-0 series victory, North eliminated MIBR in China.

The other game in the 1-2 pool featured Ninjas in Pyjamas and ViCi, with their series also starting on Overpass. The Ninjas secured the first five rounds on the CT-side but ViCi responded by taking six of the following seven rounds, tying the game at 6-6. Ninjas in Pyjamas managed to slow down ViCi as the Swedes won the last three rounds of the half to lead 9-6 at halftime.

ViCi kept it close in the second half and tied the game two times before going ahead. The Chinese team were leading 12-11 and had a 4vs2 advantage in the 24th round but Ninjas in Pyjamas managed to turn it around and went on to take the map victory with a 16-13 final scoreline.

ViCi kept it close on the CT-side on Train and finished the first half with an 8-7 lead. Unfortunately for the Chinese side, Ninjas in Pyjamas put their foot down in the second half to take earn nine match points. Christopher "⁠GeT_RiGhT⁠" Alesund and company closed out the map with a 16-13 scoreline, winning the series 2-0 and eliminating ViCi.
