ESL update Pro League relegation system
ESL have announced updates to the relegation system for ESL Pro League.
The new adjustments come as part of ESL's new tournament format, varying dependent on the region of play. In Europe, teams that place last in the first group stage will be put into a best-of-three, double-elimination bracket.
The team to come out on top will remain in the Pro League, while teams to place second and third will go into relegation, facing second and third-placed teams from MDL Season 31. Top two from relegation secure a placement in the next season of Pro League. The winner of MDL Season 31 will conclude the Pro League line-up.

In North America, the three squads to finish last in the first group stage will be pitted against the runner-up of MDL Season 31 in a double-elimination group. The team to emerge victorious gets to keep their spot in the Pro League. Contrary to Europe, the three teams that fail to surpass the opposition in the double-elimination bracket will join the third-placed MDL Season 31 team in continuing to fight for the last Pro League spot via online relegation.
Latin America representatives who place fourth in their group will face the winner of the LA League season in a best-of-three setting, with the victor of the affair copping a spot in the Pro League.
