BLAST Pro Series Madrid viewer's guide

With BLAST Pro Series Madrid kicking off in 24 hours, we present a comprehensive viewer's guide for the $250,000 tournament.

The third BLAST Pro Series event of 2019 is set to kick off on Friday, May 10, taking place at the Madrid Arena, located in the heart of the Spanish capital. Over the next two days, six contestants will duke it out in looks to secure the grand prize of $125,000.

Consistent with previous events of the BLAST Pro circuit, the group stage will feature a best-of-one, round-robin format, with the top two sides advancing straight to the best-of-three grand final.

Astralis will look to cop their fourth BLAST title in Madrid

Currently only five contestants are known for the tournament, as the sixth will be decided in a best-of-three Iberian play-in, featuring Movistar Riders and Giants. The play-in will precede the first two rounds of the group stage, all of which will take place inside the Madrid Arena on Friday, May 10. The second, and final day of the tournament will also take place in front of a live audience on Saturday, May 11.

Prior to the start of the grand final, a bonus match called the 'BLAST Pro Stand-off' will take place, where the third-placed team of the group stage will pick another side to face in a showmatch featuring five 1vs1 aim duels. The subsequent victor of the match-up will secure an additional $20,000 in prize money.

Below are all currently-known participants of BLAST Pro Series Madrid:

There will be two bo3 games. Otherwise it's almost the same as any other blast. Boring..

A bunch of bo1's are pretty fun to watch ngl, but there shouldn't be 3 games at the same time live, and the format is still shit for the competition.

Good points. I actually enjoyed 2-3 blasts in a row, but then I got bored. They are basically the same teams playing over and over again. Even if they are quite decent teams there is growing fatigue. The format also doesn't help. So I stopped watching. Few weeks ago I realised that there are 6 core teams that are here to stay till the end of the year. I have so little free time when I'm at home and huge backlog of things to watch/play/read that I'm not going to waste watching similar tournaments every few weeks. Though as I said first few editions were quite good, I just lost interest recently.

Blast pro series lives up to it's name. It's just a 'blast'. There one moment, gone the next. I also hate the fact that teams are preferring to skip events for this firework of a show. But it could have a place. Kind of like 20/20 cricket vs one day/test cricket. Csgo could have different versions too.
