KerchNET wins first BO3 set

KerchNET take home first best-of-three set in the Grand Final of Arbalet Cup Almaty

The fourth edition of Arbalet Cup was stage in Almaty, Kazakhstan this weekend. Eight teams were onsite to compete for cash-prizes. Notable was winners of the third edition, Virtus.pro, crashing in the group stage, seeing KerchNET and stOrm advancing to the playoffs.

It should come down to the Grand Final between k23 and KerchNET. The Kazakhstanis won the upper-bracket final against the Ukrainians with a 2-1 score. The Ukrainians climbed to the Grand Final by eliminating forZe 2-1.

The Grand Final should feature a killer format, with a possible of two times best-of-three maps. The Ukrainians quickly took the shine of k23, as they took a stunning 16-8 win on train, with a 12-3 T-side score. Moving on to inferno, which turned out to be one marathon map. KerchNET secured an 8-7 lead as CT, but k23 got back into it, tying the match up 15-15. A total of four overtimes should determine the winner of inferno, where KerchNET had several match points. The Kazakhstanis took it in the end, with a 28-24 score.

Ukrainian side managed a third quick win on dust2 with a total score of 16-13. This forced the second best-of-three set, which will be played tomorrow Monday.

So tune in tomorrow at 10.00 CET to watch the last set of the Arbalet Cup Almaty Grand Final between k23 and KerchNET.

Happens that they won the bo3 they need to win overall ;) To some extent, both teams are tied right now. Winner of next bo3 will be the overall winner.

k23 defeated KerchNET in the upper bracket, that's why they need to win only one bo3 in the grand finals, where as KerchNET has to win two. it's KerchNET 1:0 k23 in bo3 atm.. only one left, so whoever wins the last bo3 - wins the whole tournament.. it's really not that complicated
