Liquid round out playoffs at cs_summit, bracket set
Liquid have secured the last playoffs spot at cs_summit 4, with the single-elimination bracket seeing Vitality matched up against ENCE and NRG versus Liquid in the semi-finals.
Liquid already secured their spot in the playoffs after their first victory against Renegades on Nuke, where the North American side set themselves up for a comfortable opening map with a strong Terrorist half.
From that point on, Nick "nitr0" Cannella's side only played for better seeding going into the playoffs and some more prizemoney for each win in the group stage. Nonetheless, they kept up momentum for the second map against Aaron "AZR" Ward's men, with nitr0 leading his team to a 2-0 record against Renegades with a 16-11 win on Dust2.

NRG then went up against their local rivals in the last matchup of the group stage, which ended up going down to the wire on both maps. Playing on the offense, Liquid got off to a great start on Dust2, but an even stronger response saw NRG grab the first map before turning to Vertigo.
Although normally a highly T-sided map based on the new map's short history, Vertigo saw success on the defense, as Liquid racked up double digits in the first half before NRG began mounting another comeback. In the end, an ace from Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski swung the second half, with his team coming out victorious at 16-13 and ensuring a rematch between the two sides.
With the group stage coming to an end, the standings look as follows:
That means we will see an all-European semi-final between Vitality and ENCE, with the other pitting the two North American teams, NRG and Liquid, against each other.
