Demo download back online

New harddrive online, demosections back online, and a bunch of new PoV demos.

It has been a rough couple of days for HLTV.org, coinciding with our trip home from Seoul a harddrive on our webserver started having issues, sitting in a plane and on a stupid hotel in Frankfurt meant there was not anything we could do about it, and we had to disable demo downloading to prevent crashes as the harddrive was used.

The harddrive has now been replace and demo downloading is back online, sadly some demos were lost, it was promised no personal demos would be lost, but no matter what we tried we could not transfer some demos off the broken drive, we are truly sorry for this, but it was out of our hands. Precautions to ensure something like this never happens again have been taken, but that is of course a little late now.

As a small bandage on the wound we have uploaded a whole bunch of PoV demos from GameGune and we will be uploading more from both GameGune and e-Stars tomorrow.

Again we are sorry for the rough week that was behind us, and we hope you will all still stick with us even if you might have lost a demo you needed.

Yea.. The entire web setup (the disk is all used for demos, to get a proper lifetime of user demos we need to save around 1TB of demos) was done at a time when we could not afford such luxuries (database does run on raided disks though).. HLTV.org runs on a very limited budget..

why am i not able to dll E-stars final Demo (Fnatic V WMF ):(...i mean the dll starts and half way through it stops and i get the msg from Firefox saying dll complete :(...is smethng wrong with my Internet or HLTV's still having probs... (And is the file just 2MB??? :O...for Best of 3 maps)

Works fine here, probably a problem on your end.. :/

About the filesize, the e-Stars admin forgot to record most of the game, and we were not allowed to connect a HLTV on the game, nothing we can do about it.. :(

if you give me a list of the lost demos i can watch in my demo directory...you know...im not so good at deleting things from hdd -.- serious, i have really a lot of demos downloaded from hltv and still on my hdd, so pm me if you are interested.

Only private demos were lost, not any from the demosections, we keep a tight backup of those.. (there are only 40gb of demos in the demosection and nearly 1TB in the private demos, so we cannot backup the private ones..)
