Complexity send MIBR packing in London

Complexity defeated MIBR 2-1 in the Group B elimination match to knock out the Brazilian team at the ECS Season 7 Finals.

MIBR squared off against Complexity in the Group B elimination match, which started on Train. After Owen "⁠oBo⁠" Schlatter picked up an ace to win the pistol round, the T-sided North American squad won eight consecutive rounds to lead 9-0.

The Brazilians finally got on the scoreboard in the tenth round, with Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo racking up two kills with the AWP. MIBR lost a 5vs3 post-plant in the 12th round when Hunter "⁠SicK⁠" Mims stepped up to the plate with four kills as Complexity reached double-digits. Rory "⁠dephh⁠" Jackson won a 1vs2 to make it 12-2 and his team led 12-3 at halftime.

Shahzeb "⁠ShahZaM⁠" Khan kicked off the second half with a triple kill and SicK achieved the same feat in the following round to make it 14-3. Complexity lost only one round on defense and closed out the map with a 16-4 score.

The Brazilian squad started Vertigo on the T-side and won the pistol round thanks to Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo's triple kill in a 2vs4. Following MIBR's victories in the first four rounds, Complexity cut the deficit to one round on two different occasions but were unable to equalize.

Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David extended MIBR's lead to 7-4 with a 1vs2 clutch and they picked up three more to lead 10-5 at halftime. MIBR secured the first four rounds on defense and, later on, earned six map points after FalleN got an ace in the 24th round. TACO and company finished it off in the following round, winning 16-9.

oBo's pistol round shenanigans continued on the decider, Mirage, where he found three kills on defense but MIBR hit back with a seven round streak to lead 7-1. ShahZaM picked up an AWP ace in the 13th round to get his team's fifth round. Complexity won six of the last seven rounds in the first half to trail 8-7.

Both teams went on four round runs to begin the second half, with the T-sided Complexity winning the first four and MIBR taking the following four. Complexity then tied the game at 12-12 with a 2vs3 victory.

Complexity lost the opening duels in the 28th and 29th rounds but managed to win both to earn one series point. The North Americans took the B-site in the final round to win the map 16-14. With the 2-1 series victory, Complexity have eliminated MIBR.
