Excello and CC to fight for WCG spot

World Cyber Games qualifier in Finland reaches the final stage as Excello and Crack Clan will fight for the one spot to Chengdu.

Crack Clan did not see Niko "naSu" Kovanen return for the knock-out stages, and continued to use Konsta "kookas" Kaisla to secure the WCG spot. Crack Clan faced munkka in the semi final, where 2-0 win was secured, advancing to the Grand Final.

Second map did however see artoCS fight back, winning in overtime 19-17 on dust2. I think there are two spots, but only the first place gets an all expenses paid trip. So although Finland could send two representatives, the odds that two teams show up are slim. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Has WCG released the info on how many spots do each country gets? IMO there are many countries that deserve 2 spots. Sweden/Germany/Finland/Brazil/Denmark etc., all have 2 or more teams that would add some pretty nice competition to the event. Seeing only the usual fnatic/mTw/Wicked/MiBR/Mousesports would be kinda boring imo.

Mostly nothing, there aren't many tournies going on around here. There were rumors that mibr would attend GameGune (even by chataum), but I guess the economy crisis made them rethink about paying for the trip for not so much gain. If I recall correctly, MiBR has qualified to the national WCG finals already; I don't remember seeing Firegamers qualify yet, but they've probably done it too. The national qualify has no set date yet, but it's probably gonna happen by mid-late August or early September. Also, most are expecting both teams to attend DIDE Cup, a south american tournament coming up (supposedly it's October, but they've delayed it several times already, blame the swine flu) in Argentina.

According to the WCG rules all participating countries can send 2 teams. The Finnish organizers haven't confirmed anything about what will happen to the 2nd placed team, the 1st will get free travel and accomodation though. If crackclan is 2nd, I think they have a good enough sponsorship to go there at their own expense as well.

Yes, but the trip is extremely expensive so most of the time the #2 doesn't go.

Well I wish they had chosen a different place to hold the Grand Finals... if it took place somewhere around Europe or NA, the odds of we seeing 2 teams for each country attending would be really good, but just the plane trip to China hurts already :(.
