GamerLegion move on to Moche XL semis over OFFSET

GamerLegion bested OFFSET in a three-map series (Dust2 12-16, Inferno 19-16, Overpass 16-4) to advance to the semi-finals at Moche XL.

The series began on GamerLegion's pick, Dust2, with the favored team getting off to an early lead as Terrorists despite losing the pistol round. The score was soon even at 5-5, however, when Renato "⁠stadodo⁠" Gonçalves's 1v1 and Paulo "⁠pr⁠" Silva's triple helped fend off a few A attacks from the European mixture.

The half got away from Kévin "⁠Ex6TenZ⁠" Droolans's team, who could only secure one more round before going over to the defense with a three-round deficit. Adil "⁠ScreaM⁠" Benrlitom's 1v3 heroics in the pistol round allowed GamerLegion to make up the disadvantage and retake the lead, but they were unable to hold on to it after Francisco "⁠obj⁠" Ramos stepped up with a quad-kill.

The Portuguese mounted a dominant offense on the back of the action, giving up just one round as they closed out the opening map 16-12 following a couple of successful B splits.

Inferno followed and GamerLegion were once again the ones to get off the line more quickly after winning the second round off doubles from Tim "⁠nawwk⁠" Jonasson and Kevin "⁠HS⁠" Tarn, which led to a six-round streak. The two teams then started going back and forth, which meant a comfortable 10-5 half in favor of ScreaM & co.

When the sides switched, OFFSET once again won the pistol and this time survived the following anti-forcebuy, clawing back from the deficit round by round until they took the lead. With their backs against the wall at 10-12 and with just pistols, GamerLegion turned around a 3v5 to return into contention for the map and the series with four in a row. They couldn't finish OFFSET in regulation, as Tiago "⁠JUST⁠" Moura put up two massive plays to force overtime, but they escaped elimination after going 4-1 to push the series to the decider.

When it came to Overpass, GamerLegion seized control immediately on the defense and never let go. A 12-3 half set them up for a quick victory, as they only gave up the first round of the second half before closing out the series 16-4, 2-1.
