ESL Pro League Season 9 Finalsmousesports take down MIBR; HellRaisers overcome Luminosity in Montpellier
After a slow start, MOUZ came back to secure a comfortable 16-8 win over MIBR on Inferno, while HellRaisers started their campaign in France by defeating Luminosity 16-7 on Mirage.
MIBR's pistol round tactic, an A apartments explosion, worked out for the Brazilians as the bomb went off despite MOUZ getting all of the kills. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and co. went on to grab a 6-2 lead on the T side of Inferno to start off the game, capitalizing on their opponents struggling economy. Robin "ropz" Kool and Özgür "woxic" Eker came alive after that, solidifying MOUZ' defenses and locking MIBR out for the rest of the half to take a 9-6 lead.
After the switch, MOUZ continued their round-winning streak by claiming the pistol round, eventually making it 11 in a row for a 13-8 lead. Epitacio "TACO" de Melo's triple on the AWP shortly stopped the European side's domination, but MOUZ bounced back with some fast strats toward Arch, catching the defense off guard and closing out the game, 16-8.

Playing on the CT side of Mirage, Luminosity picked up the opening three rounds to claim the early lead, but Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný got HellRaisers back into it with his fragging, turning the score around, 5-4. Henrique "HEN1" Teles was on fire for the Brazilian side, going 20K-4D as Luminosity bounced back to claim a 7-5 advantage.
In the final stages of the half, Issa "ISSAA" Murad clutched 1v4 to get his team in the lead, and HellRaisers built on that with a comfortable CT pistol win, retaking B. After that, Luminosity struggled, not being able to get more then two kills per round or put the bomb down for the rest of the half. HellRaisers chained together eight rounds in a row on the defensive side to end the game quickly, 16-7.
