Golden loaned out to NiP for StarLadder Major

Ninjas in Pyjamas have added Maikil "⁠Golden⁠" Selim to their StarLadder Major lineup after agreeing on a temporary loan deal with Cloud9.

Ninjas in Pyjamas had been a man short for the StarLadder Major after benching Dennis "⁠dennis⁠" Edman to make room for Nicolas "⁠Plopski⁠" Gonzalez Zamora, who is ineligible to play with the team at the Berlin event due to having qualified for the Europe Minor with Ancient.

Golden will begin playing with Ninjas in Pyjamas after ESL One Cologne (July 2-7), where the team will use Plopski, who will then make his last stint with his former team at the Major's precursor and the Major itself should Ancient manage to qualify.

Golden is set to play the Major with NiP

Ninjas in Pyjamas announced the news on the day of the roster lock for the Major, June 25, while Cloud9, who failed to qualify for the Americas Minor, have yet to reveal who will replace their former in-game leader.

The StarLadder Major, which will run from August 23-September 8, will see the Swedes begin the tournament in the New Legends Stage with the following lineup:

Well anyone that plays in a broken team will look like a none tier 1 player. But he has the potential to be that if he gets som good players around him. Will Nip give him that in the future? Well maybe, but that is far away. Atleast he is in a better team now than before.

If it's really a loan, there's several better players than him to play just one tournament if you didn't need an IGL. This is surely is a some kind of try out to see if he can fit once GTR leaves, but I didn't expect that NiP could let him go so soon.

It's temporary for now. But everyone knows Golden is on his way out of Cloud 9. Same goes for vice, and possibly RUSH. Only people really cemented in Cloud 9 right now is autimatic and CajunB because of contracts. Vice is on a temporary contract, Golden just got loaned out, and RUSH has very little time left and a low buyout. With Blast LA in 18 days and Golden most likely already back in EU getting ready for the majors with NIP, expect and announcement soon on a temporary or new fifth. And that will most likely be daps. Hes just a really good player who can frag well while not igling but now that he is igling he is fairly inconsistent and makes some shoddy calls. Put him back into fragging and let someone focus on igl who is better suited. Decent move for me. Nawwk would be a better tryout for now, they do need a proper IGL too but yea -dennis +nawwk would be a smarter try for this major though and after major focus on IGL replacement that takes GTR's spot and lekr0 goes back to fragging mode. Sweden is in a sad state for IGL and awpers right now, might be only flusha that is decent IGL option with good fragging ability as well but that would be a pretty temporary move as he doesn't look that motivated anymore and probably quits in matter of maximum 2-3 years.

They did it Golden may be weak aim-wise, but NiP needed some structure which they found in Golden Remember that Fnatic won WESG and Katowice18 against FaZe in a bo5 under Golden with worse aimers tham NiP have now and consider the fact that NiP got him for 1 event, at least for now (even tho I think it will be -GTR +Golden after Berlin). If they prepare for it in a right way, everything can happen Imo, a very good desicion from NiP given the circumstances
