CIS Minor groups, schedule revealed

StarLadder has announced the group draw and schedule for the CIS Minor, running from July 24-28.

The eight squads who qualified for the CIS Minor via the online closed qualifier have been split into two groups for the initial stage of the $50,000 tournament. The event will be running parallel to its Asian counterpart from July 24-28 at an undisclosed location in Berlin, Germany.

The two best-performing teams will advance straight to the StarLadder Major's New Challengers Stage, while the third-placed side will be granted a second attempt at qualifying through the Minor Play-in, a last-chance qualifier that will have three slots at the $1 million event on offer.

Consistent with all other regional Minors, the group stage of the CIS tournament will begin with a GSL group stage with best-of-one opening matches, followed by the double-elimination playoffs, in which all matches will feature a best-of-three format.
