OpTic replace refrezh with cajunb

OpTic have replaced Ismail "⁠refrezh⁠" Ali with former Cloud9 member René "⁠cajunb⁠" Borg, Mathias "⁠MSL⁠" Lauridsen has announced on Twitter.

The in-game leader announced the news via a Twitlonger, in which he explains that the team needed more experience in order to become a more consistent team following a mixed bag of results.

In the statement, MSL also noted that his team are still looking for backing after the Immortals Gaming Club's acquisition of the OpTic brand left the former organization with ownership of two different teams alongside MIBR, creating a conflict of interest.

cajunb reunites with k0nfig and MSL

The 24-year-old stressed that only three of their players are now required to be bought out of their contracts with OpTic, which supposedly includes himself, Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke, and Nikolaj "⁠niko⁠" Kristensen, as René "⁠TeSeS⁠" Madsen was never formally announced as a permanent member.

cajunb was already seen playing instead of refrezh earlier in August, as he helped the team top the GG.BET Invitational and qualify for ESL One New York, taking place in late September.

The 29-year-old has now reunited with former North and Dignitas teammates k0nfig and MSL, recreating the core of that team which stood for two years in 2016-2017 and won EPICENTER: Moscow 2016.
