OMEN Challenge presented by HLTV talents revealed

OMEN by HP and HLTV.org are pleased to announce the first five players who will be competing in the upcoming "OMEN Challenge presented by HLTV" tournament.

The top four players of 2018, Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev, Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz, Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač and Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov, headline the player list for the duel-based tournament, which will take place on September 20 with $50,000 in prizes at stake.

The quartet will be joined by Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard, who was ranked 18th in the world in 2018, and by three other players, two of whom amateurs determined by a recruitment process that will run from September 1-8 (more details to be announced on Sunday).

The OMEN Challenge presented by HLTV will be played at an arena built specifically for the event, which will begin with a seeding stage that will consist of a series of four-player free-for all deathmatch games. The points are then tallied up and the players are placed in a 1v1 single-elimination bracket accordingly. To take viewers through the action, OMEN by HP is preparing an augmented reality livestream with a number of prominent guests, who will be revealed closer to the date of the event.
