Recruitment underway for OMEN Challenge presented by HLTV

OMEN by HP and HLTV.org are looking for the best amateur players to compete in the $50,000 OMEN Challenge presented by HLTV duel-based tournament. Think you have what it takes? Try your luck now!

Players will be required to join the OMEN Challenge Steam group and submit replays of their three best ranked games played during the recruitment period (September 1-8) to be under consideration for a spot in the tournament.

All submissions will be reduced to a shortlist by OMEN by HP for Astralis coach Danny "⁠zonic⁠" Sørensen to pick two amateur players to compete in the OMEN Challenge presented by HLTV, where they will get the chance to face, among others, the top four players of 2018, Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev, Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz, Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač and Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov.

OMEN by HP will also offer the two selected players a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: a bootcamp ahead of the event with zonic and other members of Astralis' coaching staff to learn how to optimize their in-game performance and how to prepare mentally and physically for a big tournament.

Below you can find all the details about how you can enter the recruitment process:

1. Join the OMEN Challenge 2019 Steam Group
2. Play CS:GO competitively (ranked), during the recruitment period demonstrating your best abilities.
3. Submit your best 3 match share codes via DM to the OMEN Steam account to impress zonic (players will not be considered if they submit fewer than three replays).

September 18 – Amateur training story goes live

The OMEN Challenge presented by HLTV will be held on September 20 at a special gaming arena, with $50,000 on the line. The tournament, featuring four-man deathmatch seeding games before the main 1v1 clashes, will be played on a custom-built map designed by OMEN by HP. Viewers at home able to follow the action through an augmented reality livestream with a number of prominent guests, who will be revealed at a later date.

UPDATE: OMEN by HP has clarified that the submissions will be whittled down to a shortlist for zonic to pick the two players who will compete in the tournament. Moreover, the bootcamp will see the two players spend a morning with the Astralis coach and an afternoon with other members of Astralis' coaching staff.
