New info on Global Challenge Chengdu

When Electronic Sports League announced the fourth season of Extreme Masters, they announced the first two Global Challenges, one in Cologne and one in Chengdu.

New information about the Global Challenge Chengdu has become available. The prize purse for the challenge will be $40.000 and worth noticing would be that the winning team will qualify directly to the World Championship later next year at CeBIT.

A total of twelve teams will be participating in the tournament, where none of them have been revealed yet. The Global Challenge Chengdu will take place 1-3rd of October, being the second Global Challenge of the season to open its doors.

I think it's bad that the winning team will qualify directly to the World Championship... That should be decided through the main rounds and stuff as usual.

500,000$ total cash for IEM4, and this one got 40,000$. If you say all Global Challenges have that prize purse or around, it makes at least 5-6 GC... considering the Grand Finals gather a lot more cash than GCs. I think it should be interesting whatever the number of events. :D
