Dignitas announce plans to return to men's CS:GO

Dignitas have announced that they are looking to field a male CS:GO team once again after a year without a roster.

In a video posted on Youtube, Dignitas CEO Michael "Prindi" Prindiville called on "hungry players" to get in touch with him as the organisation wants to assemble a team that can "change the game" and "build a dynasty".

Dignitas have been without a men's CS:GO squad since August 2018, when they parted ways with the ex SoaR line-up following relegation from the ESL Pro League.

Mr. Prindiville is hoping to recreate the success that Dignitas have enjoyed in League of Legends since acquiring Clutch Gaming, in June. The team recently punched their ticket to the League of Legends World Championship after beating TSM in the North American regional qualifier.

Infinite was part of Dignitas' last male team

Dignitas have a long history in Counter-Strike, dating back to 2006, and have been to five Majors, the last of which being ESL One: Cologne 2016, where the organisation fielded the Danish team that would go on to play under F.C. Copenhagen's North.

Curiously, the core of the squad that competed in Cologne, made up of Mathias "⁠MSL⁠" Lauridsen, Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke and René "⁠cajunb⁠" Borg is currently looking for a new home as OpTic Gaming are open to offers for their team after being acquired by the Immortals Gaming Club (IGC).

The announcement comes at a time when several big organisations are looking to either enter CS:GO or revamp their current rosters. 100 Thieves founder and owner Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag recently announced that he is looking to sign a "championship-caliber team", while Complexity CEO and founder Jason Lake wrote on Twitter that he wants to "build a juggernaut" after the team's disappointing campaign at the StarLadder Major.

Rebranding and new ownership. Dignitas was bought out as an org. The logo isn't the biggest issue. IF that's actually an issue, then the fans who actually gauge their support for the team based on logo branding aren't real fans. Plus, their new logo is equal fire. NRG's new logo is a bust. I'm just thankful it's not a garbage transition like that. Plus, they did away with "Team Dignitas" and rebranded to simply Dignitas, now.

This is wrong. They aren't returning to "male" counter-strike, they are returning to a not female exclusive roster. There is cs then female cs. Females can partake in both, men can not. Calling it a return to male cs is pushing the narrative that there are different leagues segregating both genders.
