MIBR clinch semis spot at V4, quarter-finals set

The group stage at V4 Future Sports Festival has concluded on the second day of the tournament, with MIBR clinching the top spot in Group B and a spot in the semi-finals, while the quarter-final matchups have been set.

The second day of the Hungarian event began with Ninjas in Pyjamas taking on adwokacik in Group B's opening round, which saw the Polish side continue in day one's spirit of surprisingly close affairs between big favorites and underdogs as they took the Swedes to the limit on Train, although ultimately losing the series 0-2.

Group A's elimination match followed, with Czech-majority team E-RIVALS struggling against Virtus.pro on the first map, Inferno, on which they had challenged MOUZ during the first day, before Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski & co. secured the series 2-0 and a spot in the quarter-finals on the back of a close Mirage win.

MIBR punch a ticket to the semi-finals in Budapest

Back in Group B, MIBR and Ninjas in Pyjamas clashed for the top spot, with the Brazilians punching a direct ticket to the semi-finals after coming back from an 8-14 deficit on Inferno to win in double overtime and claiming a straight-forward Dust2 victory.

GAMERZONE and adwokacik then squared off for the last available spot in the playoffs to end the second day, and Grzegorz "SZPERO" Dziamałek's side disposed of the local side with clear-cut wins on Mirage and Inferno.

The quarter-final matchups, which will be played on Saturday in front of live audience after a day off on Friday, look as follows:

Sweden Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Poland Virtus.pro
Denmark Tricked vs. Poland adwokacik

MOUZ and MIBR are waiting in the semi-finals played on Sunday, with the European team set to face the winner of Ninjas in Pyjamas-Virtus.pro and the Brazilians on the other side.

3 teams who played last major, is also a test for mibr with KNG. If they beat mouz in finals it might be a start of a great future for mibr.

If MIBR drop taco they will have a good top5 team. I don’t see them winning any tier1 events until they drop him.

he was very good at holding up site as ct tough, his utility usage was very on point to buy time for rotation. but his aim just pure shit, and he was so bad at T side. Unfortunately there no much choice in br right now, most young player has good aim but not enough experience.

They are probably not watching the game, just making comments according to the EOG Frag status....

Indeed, TACO has improved a lot in recent games. It was bad in the opening game, but against NiP played well. He also played a lot at Major. I believe TACO is a good player, and he is not the problem of MIBR. The problem was the cold.

You are right in the cold statement, but need to emphasis that the problem was the personal and the status he would keep.... Cold is an exceptional player, but as s1mple has recently played, he was trying to build KD intead of play for the team... He was also putting the blame in other teamattes shoulders, destroying the team mood....

They're already playing better than at Moscow. Fallen moving towards support is being great so far. mibr just needs kNgV to be less anxious because he's constantly missing AWP shots, and TACO to get more high impact kills so that fer doesn't need to carry rounds all the time. If this works out, mibr will be top3 in no time and up to challenge Liquid and Astralis for top1. #SOMOSMIBR

True, was so good to see how Fallen has improved on IGL role by not faking function... Fer needs to become the entry, he's great in the first shots, did you saw that on Dust? He was amaizing....

The line-up with entry Kngv on the team looks like have renovated the essence of the Brazilian team. I think that the first title will come to this event. Let's wait for the main events of the scenario too. #GoMIBR
