ECS to return to Arlington for Season 8 Finals

ECS have announced the location and dates for its Season 8 Finals, which will return to the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on November 28-December 1.

The $500,000 tournament will return to the same venue that hosted the finals of its sixth season late last year and saw Astralis hoist the trophy following a grand final triumph against MIBR.

The regular season is currently ongoing, with the first week of action completed in both North America and Europe, as NRG and AVANGAR topped the opening tournament in each region to take a step towards a spot at the finals.

ECS returns to its Season 6 venue

Unlike in the previous season, this time the team that accumulates the most prizemoney over the course of the first two weeks in each region will secure a place at the main event, while winners of weeks three to five will punch a direct ticket to the Arlington tournament. The remaining four weeks of play of the regular season will run until the end of October.

Finally I got #1 on hltv

ECS really needs a LAN set up to keep up with the times. It's hard to take these online matches serious when you can see the players aren't taking them all that serious themselves. Which in turn let's shit teams through and makes the actual finals which should be a great event kind of shit to watch.

I wish one of them would I loved the GSL style leagues. But I think if faceit went back and esl didn't most teams would dodge their league.

I liked watching the old leagues myself I just feel like for big tournaments we need LAN. The players themselves will tell you anyone can beat anyone online and it shows in the way they conduct themselves online. Granted I haven't watched the EU ECS matches maybe it's better there but it just looks like no one but the lower tier teams are taking it serious which at least IMO hurts the final product. I mean Liquid didn't even make it to the ECS finals this year basically in the middle of their 'era' or streak or whatever you want to call it. The leagues did produce some awesome moments though. A year ago NRG was one of those teams tearing it through them and entering the world stage essentially online before they became an international force.

I still prefer the old formats. They were actual LEAGUES. youd have plenty of games to watch Monday-Thursday for weeks. Now, its just a handful of games per week for only 4 weeks. It's boring and idc. I will say tho that I like the opportunity that the ECS pinnacle cup gives teams

Fair enough. I just think the end product is better the other way. Like I said I agree with you that the leagues gave you something to watch.
