Sprout see off FURIA at Games Clash Masters

Sprout came from behind to beat FURIA 2-1 and punched their ticket to the grand final of the Games Clash Masters, in Gdynia.

The Brazilian team jumped out to a 5-0 lead on the CT side of Inferno after a dominant start against a Sprout side that looked uninspired individually. Florian "⁠syrsoN⁠" Rische was the only player who looked lively on the German team as he constantly broke down the FURIA defense with his AWP, but the Brazilians still found themselves up 10-5 come the end of the half despite a couple of missteps in certain rounds.

Nils "⁠k1to⁠" Gruhne kept Sprout in the game with three key kills in the second-half pistol, but the Germans would soon be handed a major blow as FURIA rallied back in the third round in a 3v5 situation and put together a string of rounds, reaching map point at 15-7. Sprout still attempted a response before a stunning 1v3 clutch by Kaike "⁠KSCERATO⁠" Cerato sealed the deal for the Brazilians.

Sprout looked a completely different side on Mirage, their opponents' map pick. They were in control from the offset and strolled to a 12-3 lead with a very tight defense. Yuri "⁠yuurih⁠" Santos came to FURIA's rescue in the next pistol, giving his team a bit of a breather, but it would not take long for Sprout to regain the upper hand and lock down the map.

KSCERATO showed his clutching prowess once again on Train as he put FURIA on the board in a 1v2 situation after his team had lost the pistol round. The Brazilians rode that momentum to a 3-1 lead, but Sprout were in control for the remainder of the half and took a 9-6 advantage.

FURIA came fighting back in the second half and twice took a narrow lead, the second of which at 13-12. However, Sprout then turned the tide back in their favour as they responded on a very weak buy, leaving the Brazilians strapped for cash and unable to back on their feet.
