Cache update released on Steam Workshop

The new version of Cache is now available to the public on the Steam Workshop.

The long-awaited update to Cache was unveiled at ESL One New York, with pro players taking part in a showmatch on the updated version of the established map. Now, the public will also be able to play the new Cache, as it is available for download on the Steam workshop.

Cache is back, with a new look

In our interview with the map's creators, Sal "Volcano" Garozzo and Shawn "FMPONE" Snelling, the minds behind Cache explained that the update aimed to keep many of the original features, but "give players more creative ways to use their tools".

The map has not been added to the CS:GO client yet, which means it can only be played on community servers or places such as FACEIT Hubs.

Idk about you guys, but i am extremely disappointed by the new Cache. I expected some real changes to the map like they did on Cobble or even Inferno, but FMPONE just changed some elements, the texture and added new pixels. I was really expecting a huge change to the map format itself. What do you think about it?

This cache is quite a big upgrade. They never needed to change the layout of the map, just tweak it so you have easier access to some things. Don't fix what isn't broken.

Inferno: - Banana. From the tight pillar-y hallway to straight and wider area with the pillar removed - A site. Removed the roof - Apartment. Removed the awkward second apartment room. (I think it was called bedroom?) Incredibly OP spot. - Dark on B site was lighten up and makes it easier to spot someone in. That's all the significant change I can remember

yea i hoped for some crazy things, like adding a passage from mid to a-main or from mid sandbags to b, maybe remove or completly rework the boost. i like a, but it could also get a entry way overhaul. I dont think the additions and the general visuals of the map makes it better for competitive play, i think its much more casual friendly.

VOLCANO and FMPONE! Guys, can you please make de_tuscan return somehow, if you could somehow pull some strings and see if you had any human connections in the Valve world to make that happen. This map could have easily replaced nuke/vertigo/train or something at some point, if made playable once udpated without junk on the map, that'd be so cool!

Alright I ain't 3kliksphilip but here it is : Options : All low, 2xMSAA, FXAA activated, Texture filtering : Bilinear GTX 1060 6GB I5 4460 No bots Old Cache : T Spawn ~ 280 fps CT Spawn ~ 300 fps Mid ~270 fps A site ~260 fps B site ~ 290 fps New Cache : T Spawn ~ 240 fps CT Spawn ~ 230 fps Mid ~ 220 fps A site ~ 230 fps B site ~ 220 fps Since there was a lot of fps variations I just took the average between the highest and lowest fps.

it's fucking terrible .. stupid pastel colors.. fps dipping to 140 with 9900k and rtx2070 ... nobody likes cache bring back mill or tuscan give the people what they want .. not the 12 year old boys who que cache mirage only
