Cloud9 invited to DreamHack Atlanta

Cloud9 have accepted an invitation to compete at DreamHack Open Atlanta, the tournament organiser has revealed.

The North American giants have secured the first invite to the $100,000 tournament, joining a team list that also includes INTZ and The Quest, the top two sides of the closed qualifier.

This will be Cloud9's first DreamHack Open stop since the 2017 event in Denver, where they came out victorious after beating BIG in the final, with Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta being the only remaining player from that title-winning team.

The announcement comes at a time when Cloud9 are sitting outside the top 30 in the rankings and assessing their options after benching Tyson "⁠TenZ⁠" Ngo. Former Ghost and Swole Patrol member Yassine "⁠Subroza⁠" Taoufik is currently on trial with the team and should make his LAN debut next week, at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen.

DreamHack Open Atlanta will take place from November 15-17 at the Georgia World Congress Center, featuring eight teams. With the two qualifying berths already filled, the last teams will five teams will be determined through invites.
