Complexity to sign poizon - Report

Windigo's Valentin "⁠poizon⁠" Vasilev is set to make a move to Complexity, according to a report from 1pv.fr.

With the signing of the Bulgarian star, who will reportedly receive a salary of upwards of $20,000, Complexity are looking fill the role of the AWPer left vacant after the recent moves made by the North American organization, which saw the previous player in that role, Shahzeb "⁠ShahZaM⁠" Khan, put on the bench alongside the removal of the team's former in-game leader, Rory "⁠dephh⁠" Jackson.

poizon has for a long time been on the radar as one of Europe's biggest prospects who are yet to receive a chance to play at the highest level, having risen up the ranks over the past two years, first as part of Bpro before stepping up to Windigo in late 2018 and helping the team win WESG World Finals and Moche XL Esports this year.

poizon is set to relocate to North America for Complexity

The 20-year-old's addition will mark Complexity's third signing since late September when Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer and William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba joined the Dallas-based organization.

According to a previous report by 1pv.fr, the team are looking to Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke to fill the last remaining spot in the lineup. Such a move would create a European-majority roster, which would be required to qualify for the next Major, taking place in May 2020, through the Europe Minor.

If the two moves come to fruition, Complexity's active roster will look as follows:

Which qualifier should they go through? There isn't one for their region. They compete in NA, it's the most logical qualifier for them. If they were like MIBR or Renegades they'd have a place to compete, but they're a sort of strange case.

Fairly certain they can do NA quals if the team plays out of NA, Optic did it back in the day before they moved over to EU because the Danish boys didn't want to stay in NA. But I think it's based on the region in which the team is currently living, but I am not totally sure

Actually Valve has changed the rule and if a team is living in the region and participating in events in that region for more than 2 months they can play in that regions qualifiers. Thats very good addition, but i am worried about third NA slot. Did they finally change rules so it matters where team resides instead of nationality? I mean complexity is clearly NA org and players will most likely live there, right? So they should be in NA minor. I mean... renegades are NA aswell? major itself in like 7 months, so if closed qualifiers are like 2 months before that's still 5 months to get someone else. getting a solid roster that would perform until then would probably give them more options if people would see blamef, k0nfig etc. doing well. they don't even need 3rd NA player if they replaced k0nfig with CIS/Asia(Australia)/BR player

They don't need to travel to Europe for qualifiers as this team should be based in Dallas I think. Event organisers allow teams to play their qualifiers if they live there. They can play EPL, ECS, Dreamhack qualifiers, ESL/IEM qualifiers, starseries qualifiers etc. Just look at renegades, Danish optic when they lived in NA. The only events that have stricter qualifiers are majors and WESG.

They have organisation behind the team, they get paid for playing. You really think SJ havent make it clear that Jamppi is eligible to play? If the org. wouldn't be 100% sure they wouldnt have let the team to participate. So its pretty sure there is nothing between jamppi and valve, there could be problem between OG and Jamppi we dont know..

Okay, pozion is good, but they should've signed somebody from Asia, Oceania, SA or NA. Now they will have to play the EU minor, which is so fucking stacked that they have basically no chance. If they signed Wardell for example, they could've played the NA minor. They could've signed anybody from anywhere apart EU and they would be able to choose between EU and NA minor. And they sign 2 more EU players... That's so stupid to be honest. On paper this team is great, but they're not gonna qualify for the major. Mark my words.

How does it work when complexity are set on them living in the United States but they are a majority EU lineup who have to quality in EU qualifiers?? Will they be allowed to participate in NA leagues besides that or are they considered an EU team for everything?

They don't need to travel to Europe for qualifiers as this team should be based in Dallas. Event organisers allow teams to play their qualifiers if they live there. They can play EPL, ECS, Dreamhack qualifiers, ESL/IEM qualifiers, starseries qualifiers etc. Just look at Renegades, or Danish optic when they lived in NA (they eventually moved to EU and forfeitted NA EPL spot themselves in exchange for EU MDL spot). The only events that have stricter qualifiers are majors and WESG.
