WESG 2019 closed qualifier invites announced
Teams that were invited directly to the WESG 2019 closed qualifiers have been announced, with squads such as HellRaisers, HEROIC, and BIG making the list.
Following the reveal of the format and dates for most of the WESG 2019 qualifiers, the tournament organizer behind the event has shared details about the invited teams which will be joining open qualifier squads in the second stage of the competition in their respective regions.

Headlining the CIS qualifier are HellRaisers, who are followed by Nemiga and two academy squads, but not Gambit Youngsters. It is important to note that teams such as AVANGAR and Syman did not meet the requirements for this qualifier, and are instead playing the Central Asia qualifier which leads to the APAC LAN event and then to the Global Finals.
In the region named East Europe, Polish teams dominate in invites, Virtus.pro being the highest-ranked one at #22. The most competitive qualifier seems to be North Europe, where three Danish squads — North, Tricked, and HEROIC —, as well as HAVU and four open qualifier teams will battle for two Global Finals slots. Heretics will be participating in the West Europe qualifier, while the two most renowned German squads, Sprout and BIG, will have to fend of Iberian challengers to reach the $1,000,000 LAN in China.
Lastly, Entity, Global, and Viva Algeria were invited to their respective qualifiers, with a number of closed qualifier spots, such as the ones for Asian sub-regions, still left to be filled.
