mousesports beat OG to reach third consecutive grand final

MOUZ were determined as the first finalists of cs_summit 5 having bested OG 2-1.

In the first semi-final of Sunday, MOUZ sought to secure their third consecutive grand final placement, while the ambitious OG roster was set on avenging a spoiled tournament opener and surpass expectations in their debut event. The first finalist of cs_summit 5 was to be determined on Mirage, Inferno, and, Dust2.

ropz took matters into his hands on Inferno, landing 25 frags

Finn "karrigan" Andersen and company got off to a strong start on the T side of their map pick, Mirage, despite conceding a string of rounds after OG secured their first rifle round. Immaculate A site executes yielded MOUZ the majority of the rounds in the first half, entering their defence with a 10-5 surplus.

The second pistol round went the way of OG, and despite being upset by a pistol buy in the follower, the team maintained composure in the early rounds of their T side. Strong showings from Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski and Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså accommodated for an 11-11 equaliser, leveling the playing field, and with some later contribution from Issa "ISSAA" Murad, the team achieved quadruple map point. A 1v2 clutch from Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen sealed the deal, as OG secured their opponents' map pick at 16-12.

valde spearheaded OG's efforts on Mirage with a 1.40 rating

Having experienced lop-sided domination from OG on their map pick, MOUZ kicked off their CT campaign on Inferno with some of their own. Insufficient time for the Ts in the pistol round meant a conceded lead, and only six rounds down the line were Aleksib and company able to get themselves on the board. The newly-signed roster continued to spiral on the T side, unable to secure a bomb plant until round 14, which saw MOUZ retake the A site to close out their sixth consecutive round victory.

Issues persisted in the concluding round of the half, producing a 14-1 half for karrigan and co. Map point came shortly after as a successful bomb plant was secured by MOUZ in the second pistol round. The inevitable was postponed by OG for four rounds, after which the teams took to Dust2 to determine the first finalist in Los Angeles.

NaToSaphiX shone on Dust2, assisting mousesports into the grand final

MOUZ got off to a swimming start on the CT side of Dust2, with several multi-frag rounds posted by members of the squad. A triple kill from ISSAA got OG on the scoreboard, but shortly after the CT's campaign continued to 7-1. A pivotal Krieg triple from Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt proved to be the catalyst necessary to turn the tables on the match, as the Frenchman inspired his team to mount an impressive comeback on the T side, closing the deficit to a single round at 7-8.

In spite of their opponents stepping on their heels, MOUZ kept composure on the T side, kicking off to a solid half start once more as double digits on the scoreboard were acquired. Rifles for the OG defence meant a sway in the tides of war, as, similar to Mirage, the young roster had demonstrated resilience, climbing back to an equaliser at an all too familiar 11-11.

In an unlikely turn of events, MOUZ pulled off a pistol buy upset, which subsequently led to the team assuming the reins of the map, and as a consequence, map and series point. A 1v1 between Niels Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen and ISSAA marked the conclusion of the series, as the Jordanian lacked time to defuse the bomb, falling 12-16 on Dust2.

but it is summit. I think, that this final shoulsn't be counted. If they will reach final on Epicenter and win it, it can be easily said that end of 2019 is mousesport's time

I would agree since the event doesn't have the top teams, excepting mouse. But this is still a good accomplishment because woxic is a HUGE part of mouse's success. It's a really big deal to not have your star awp. Nato has done a great job filling in.

They should get SHiPZ instead of nbk or aleksib. They'r decent IGL both of them, but there can only be 1 captain on the ship. But still they did pretty good for their first lan, won from mibr, virtus, furia.

aleksib>sunny in fragging btw xaxaxaxa, even xseven and aerial are better on this department tbh but delusional fanboys continue to live in denial. Also total bot performance by nbk and aleksib here cost chance to win for OG, pretty sad for them I guess but maybe in future it can be better when team has more time together still, could give players more chances to do ok despite having less than great day...

Congrats to my fav team and fav player Mr. Karrigan. This event has a weak set of teams but Mouse is severely handicapped not having one of their stars and their main awp. I hope they can make it 3 in a row.
