BLAST Premier Spring seeding pots announced

BLAST has confirmed the seeding pots for the Spring season of BLAST Premier 2020.

Prior to the group draw, BLAST asked the participating sides to rank each other in order to create an initial seeding, with the teams then split into four different pots.

One team from each pot will be drawn into three groups in the draw ceremony, which will be held live at 20:00 on Twitch.tv/blastproseries and feature Nicolas Estrup, Director of Product and Experience at BLAST Pro Series, Auguste "⁠Semmler⁠" Massonnat and Jacob "⁠Pimp⁠" Winneche.

Without surprise, pot 1 is made up of the three highest-ranked teams in attendance, BLAST Pro Series Global Final winner Astralis, the runner-up in Riffa, Liquid, and Evil Geniuses, who have been inside the top five since the summer and even held the No.1 spot for two weeks between October and November.

Ninjas in Pyjamas, who came in third place in Bahrain, have been placed in seeding pot 3 alongside French duo Vitality and G2, while FaZe, who came in last at the Global Final event, are in pot 2 together with 100 Thieves and Natus Vincere. The last pot features MIBR, OG and Complexity.

The group stage will begin sometime in January in London, with the match format still to be determined. The top two teams from each of the three groups will advance to the season finals, where they will be joined by two sides coming from a different stage, called BLAST Showdown.
