Copenhagen Flames part ways with female roster

Copenhagen Flames no longer houses a female CS:GO roster, the organisation has announced.

The decision to part ways was explained to be due to the high costs associated with running two professional CS:GO rosters simultaneously. Following the departure of the team, the Danish organisation expressed wishes to "invest in and strengthen" its academy and "build a full Danish female squad of young players" in coming years.

The original CPH Flames fe squad was signed in June 2019, and over the course of their sixth-month tenure, the core successfully qualified for the LAN finals of GIRLGAMER Esports Festival 2019 and WESG 2019 despite persistent issues with roster stability.

Copenhagen Flames no longer house a female roster

Three former representatives of the squad in Ksenia "vilga" Kluenkova, Kelly "KllyVe" Verhaegen and coach Nikolay "pNshr" Paunin will be playing under the Assassins tag for the foreseeable future, debuting at the GIRLGAMER Esports Festival 2019, meanwhile Michaela "mimi" Lintrup recently re-joined her former teammates in WRTP. Vicky "vic" Dose has not yet made an official statement regarding her future.

The former core will now play under the Assassins tag, consisting of:

Russia Ksenia "vilga" Kluenkova
Belgium Kelly "KllyVe" Verhaegen
Romania Ana "ANa" Dumbravă
United States Klaudia "klaudia" Beczkiewicz
Russia Alexandra "twenty3" Timonina

Bulgaria Nikolay "pNshr" Paunin (coach)

I think that isolation of female cs causes the big skill gap between female and male teams. If female teams are playing only against female teams I think there is not enough space for the team to get better. Anyway, good luck in the future.

they play against male teams all the time. there aren't even that many female teams. your whole "skill gap because they don't play against male teams" argument makes no sense.

they cant get to advanced stages because they cant win against a random faceit team not because they're female

Technically, they can't win against a random faceit team BECAUSE they're female.

If you look at their hltv pages some do play in open qualifiers and don't get very far. If you were in their situation you'd just collect the paycheck and compete in Fe only tournaments as well.

it is true, but the issue is that there are way less female players playing, so there are less chance to see a female becoming as good as the male pro "standard". And most of videos games communities are hostile to female players, so it isn't attractive for female to play it.

No, I said girl are not performing in video games because the one already here have absolutly no chill with them and it's humanly understandable that if people don't want you in you may not be interested to go in.

I'm sorry but that's bullshit Females are just not as much into video games as males are in general, not because they are getting cyber bullied or anything.. I'm sure they do get bullied sometimes for being a girl but oh well, men get bullied as well for other things, that's just how internet works, you can be the tough guy behind your computer. Women are not like "oh shit I would love to play some csgo but man am I gonna get bullied for being a girl".. they are just interested in other things mainly

yes I do agree with your explanation, but on the other hand girl won't be more interested in video games if it seems hostile. It's like going for classical dance for male, there are not that much male, but has it doesn't feel attractive because of some bias the trend can't evolve (the last part is an assumption, may be totally wrong on the exemple)

Female CS is constantly playing against male CS, though they always get trashed by a LVL 8 Face IT PUG team. It's not about playing male CS, it's simply about being good.

Trading against male teams and they should play more or male cs league, not just be happy with their own leagues would certainly lead to improvement.

It's not like they're not trying. I saw many qualifiers where female teams participated, they mostly made it to the first round of the qualifier and then got trashed. The event organizers are even inviting "the best female team" to some tournaments. And then the best female team gets trashed again lmao. There's a reason why we don't see any woman on a man only team. Women just don't have the dedication and can't withstand pressure like men can. I'm not being sexist or anything but it's like you'd expect a woman to smash a wall with sledgehammer. You might give her a lighter sledgehammer, you might stand there whole day and cheer for her, it's just not going to happen.

I can't agree with you with the comparison you made. Playing CS is nothing like smashing walls with sldgehammer. Women are as capadle of playing cs as man. Maybe the problem is that the game is not as popular amongs women as amongs men so lot's of fe players who would be good never played the game? I just don't think that cs is game only for men, as you suggest.

The game has been around for almost 8 years now. It's the same as if you'd say "Hockey is just not popular amongst the Chinese, lots of chinese players who never played hockey would be good if they played it." You can say that about everything, it doesn't mean everyone's good at it. We can only focus on the facts and the fact is that the best female team is 200th in the world rankings.
2020-01-04 14:01

why do you keep repeating the same bullshit if people already explained you that they play against male teams all the time? it's not like they don't try, they simply aren't good enough. why this is the case isn't another topic but it's simply a fact that current female teams tried to compete with male teams and they all failed.
