moddii wins fnatic PLAY

After a long day of matches, the fnatic PLAY event has drawn to a close - with Andreas "moddii" Fridh emerging as the victor.

The tournament began with some confusion, as no servers were being provided for the event. This meant that the players had to find their own servers, which meant a few delays were inevitable.

Despite this issue, admins having powercuts, and players not showing up, the event ran smoothly, and churned out a few surprises along the way. The most surprising of which came in the very first round, with Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg being eliminated by Russian player "m9sik". He then went on to eliminate Harley "dsn" Örwall, before being knocked out by Markus "Pronax" Wallsten.

Yet it was inevitable that two of the biggest names in counter strike would meet in the final - Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund and Andreas "moddii" Fridh. Moddii defeated his Swedish counterpart by 16-14, to take home the top prize.

The prize distribution is as follows:

1st - moddii - $100
2nd - GeT_RiGhT - SteelSeries 4H
3rd - Pronax -QcK+ Limited Edition (Fnatic)

Fridh has thus improved on his third place finish at fnatic's last event, and will aim to defend his title next time around.

Pronax doesn't belong to a team really if they haven't started something new, though he played for TempZone I think it was in the Swedish EM4 qualifier:)

very badly organised. My mate was going to play with gux, he had server, he was idleing in irc and waiting. But then suddenly gux got default win :S Altough he was in irc and active. Stupid admins.

it wasnt the easiest thing to organize at all. I hope you appreciate that I was asked to do this along with the fnatic guys... and only found out what my role was literally 2mins before it was supposed to start. I hope the admin you spoke to was street, the event organizer. I know nothing about this, but apologies! It would have been a lot better if servers were provided, and admins were speccing each game - and times given for each round. But it wasnt and we had to work with what we had.

moddiii is the TRUTH son next big player coming out of sweden, watch when cArn quits fnatic he will be his replacement, kid has ridiculous aim and one of the best players in the world IMO. Pronax too is a beast
