Giants announce new roster with former eXploit trio

Giants have announced their roster for 2020, which includes Ricardo "⁠fox⁠" Pacheco, Claudio "⁠Cunha⁠" Cunha, and three former eXploit players.

Early reports by Fraglíder in December of 2019 hinted fox and Cunha could be out of the Portuguese superteam formed under the umbrella of Giants, but a twist in the plot led to the Spanish organization keeping the 33-year-old AWPer and letting go of the other two players that had formed the team's core since its inception, Ricardo "⁠roman⁠" Oliveira and Christopher "⁠MUTiRiS⁠" Fernandes.

fox will spearhead Giants' new project

Omar "⁠arki⁠" Chakkor migrated with roman and MUTiRiS, as well as coach Ricardo "⁠AIm⁠" Almeida and analyst Arlindo Torres. Together they created SAW, a new organization that will play the upcoming Orange Unity League, a rebrand of LVP's Superliga Orange. The rift in the team's old core left Cunha's future up in the air, and although the 23-year-old had been a part of the last iteration of Giants, it was unknown if he would join fox in his new venture. It has now finally been confirmed the he will be one of the starting five in the new Giants lineup.

The three players rounding out the roster are Renato "⁠renatoohaxx⁠" Gonçalves, Filipe "⁠NOPEEJ⁠" Dias and Bruno "⁠BLOODZ⁠" Mourão, whose biggest achievement in 2019 was winning the Portuguese LPCS Masters 2019 with eXploit—a victory that gave them access to the OMEN Atlantic Challenge 2019 in Lisbon, where they played against DETONA and Heretics.

Unlike SAW, Giants are part of ACE, a Spanish association of esports organizations that includes the likes of Movistar Riders and x6tence, and are expected to play a new league put together by ACE teams that is yet to be announced instead of LVP's Orange Unity League.

They are indeed better. Ex-giants (now sAw) wanted to kick fox, basically the org kicked them and kept fox. They are mad with each other so fox needed to pick other players, so he decided to pick the best young talents. Not bad, but not a top 30 team for sure, theere are indeed better pt players

Imo rmn is a lot better than fox and they could build a really strong pt team with ZELIN, obj, rmn, mutiris & killdream. I only followed this scene some times ago and it feels like the strongest players cannot work together :s

#55 Basicly there are to many egos within PT. They aren't as active as they should and they don't pracc has much as they should. Fox only goal is to be the best within Portugal. Mutt RMN and Arki want to do better internationally. The rest of the player like zel1n and killdream, so were told his cause they are as lazy a fox, and didn't want to putt the praccing hour as well, at least not for the amount of money they were geting from giants.

Right now, the sAw lineup is the strongest possible to be made. Zelin is playing in OFFSET with obj, rizz, zlynx and kustom while killdream is free agent (killdream may be added to offset or exploit if things doesn't go well) . Exploit also had to change 3 players and they added sark, misk and pr to the lineup. Right now, Portugal got the most competitive year since the csgo era started with 1 strong team and 3 others equally good.

pt scene will never thrive cuz the top pt players are fucking divas and think that they're good and demand conditions without proving shit. So they basically get mad at the tiny difference of opinion within the team. Basically no one has +50Iq to realize that a team needs time, consistent practice and to play matches especially on lan. Not keep changing rosters every 3 months, no one will thrive like that

they are pretty much on the same lvl. Just being overhyped cause a overperfmonce in one event, and i didn't call it "The best pt team" i called it a better team or a "at the same lvl team".

saw is the best team on paper but its not that big of a difference and i see them loosing anytime to either giants or offset and even exploit. i like this decision from fox, he couldnt make a good international team so he gave an opportunity to some guys from his country that never had the chance to do this as a profession instead of making tempo storm v2.
