ESL bans Diodel for 2 years

Electronic Sports Leagues have disqualified iGamerz from the upcoming fourth season of Extreme Masters.

The French team secured a spot for Qualification Round 2, by their performance in the French ESL Pro Series. The team have however today been disqualified and will not be playing the qualification match and will miss out the chance to qualify for Extreme Masters season four.

iGamerz have been disqualified due to Rodolphe "Diodel" Verloës being caught cheating in an official ESL match. Verloës received 12 penalty points for his acts, which means he will be barred from playing in any ESL activities for 2 years.

The team has also been removed from ESL Pro Series France, where the team had qualified for the playoffs (which will be played online). Due to the team being disqualified in Extreme Masters, the French team of dimension4, will move from Qualification Round 1 to 2. eXootia will take the spot in the Qualification Round 1 (facing UK team Virtuoso). In ESL Pro Series iGamerz will be replaced by oXmoze (former emuLate), who failed to qualify first hand.

he has been caught one time cheating in a mixteam ESL tournament, i dont think he cheated when he was playing for iGamerz since he played a lot of offline event.

That's the first time he cheated during an official match. The funny thing is that the iGamerz team is dead and Diodel left "progaming" right after the French national cup in june. Esport-Eu was supposed to get the EM slot. And the new team Qwerty (with some former iGamerz like loduN and drizzer) was supposed to get the EPS slot. Basically, Diodel fucked 10 guys (4 of them are his former iG teammates), just because he was angry to be owned by nonames during a lame online summer ESL cup and activated a wallhack during one side. I think that he deserved a big GG !

I was never caught. I admitted to it and I stopped ages ago. And it was never in a league or competitive event. Only in late night scrims when we got a pug when we asked for a team, talked trash, etc.

Yeah but people's emotions just get the best of them sometimes. Two wrongs don't make a right but morality isn't something thats innate to a person. It takes some self-control but I guess Diodel wanted payback too badly to restrain himself from cheating.

I have a pretty good idea on what might stop cheating and also help leagues out. When I get home from class I'll put make an article on it on the one and only HLTV.org! But basically the idea flying through my head right now is leagues should conviscate computers under an agreement that they have the right to do so if you compete in their leagues, qualifiers, etc. Then if someone is found cheating they lose their computer, and it can be given away randomly to a random person in the league in a drawing or just pawned off somewhere and make some extra cash for the league. :P That'd show those cheaters. :)

People tend to say fuck cheaters and I have never cheated and never will and blablabla, but it's one of the best ways to improve your game. Many pros have used cheats and admited, and many pros have used cheats and never talked about it. It doesn't hurt to try cheats, you should try cheats because it can be really helpful for your skill. What hurts is using cheats in professional competitions, and that imo should be a permanent ban. VAC's policy is just a way to make money. People get banned, they buy/steal another account. Imagine death penalty to anyone that steals a chocolate. Anyway, vac and most anti-cheats suck, so do whatever you want, keep flaming cheaters, but remember most people have cheated. And by most I say way over 50%. So my point is: Cheaters are not morons, people that crucify any kind of cheater are morons themselves. Bans should be different for different kinds of cheaters

I wasn't comparing the seriousness, sorry if it didn't get through as I wanted (I understand why it wouldn't) Cheating doesn't have to bother the players who have to play against you, if you're even near intelligent they won't notice you are cheating even if they are specing you. Decent players tend to be called cheaters no matter if they are cheating or not. Valve's policy doesn't limit the problem, noone stops cheating because of it because it's not efficient. There are dozens of free indetectable cheats at any time of the year, so imagine the private ones. You only get vac banned if you want. Another advantage to trying cheats: It will be dead easy to spot cheaters. Most youtube videos in which people always comment: "That's normal. I have done that etc. etc." are many times obvious cheating. Just to make it clear: I'm not for cheaters and I don't like cheating. I'm just saying you shouldn't crucify or stereotype cheaters (which is what I see in many thread, not this one because this for me deserves a life ban of the player), because there are various kinds of cheating. One thing is to cheat occasionally to master spam spots and to understand how the other players hide behind cover, which you won't unless you watch many many many demos and spend hours with a mate on the server trying out spots. Another thing is to cheat yourself to victory in a professional competition, which involves money and serious life goals of other people. Ruining those serious goals is, for me, being a moron. Occasionaly disguised cheating in casual playing is, for me, acceptable.

what a novel! even if a cheater isn't spotted using his cheat, it <I>is</I> bothering, since a guy who should win loses. u know, now when i play on internet servers, i have as a reflex to act as if i'm going to show up, but quickly come back, just to see if someone on the other side of a wall/door is waiting for me with a cheat, and regularly, u hear a shot right at the moment when should have been visible, so yes, it <I>is </I>bothering. Even non-professional players have paid the game, and it's a right to play normally even if they don't dedicate their life to the game for the wallbangs: no need to play ffa, each time i want to find one, i can either: watch a hltv and use the free view to move through the walls; or asking a friend/teammate to join an empty/my server to find it without bothering casual players

You don't need to have the wallhack turned on all the time. If they fall for that trick you describe they are stupid cheaters, and are definitly cheating to get more frags. I'm just defending that cheating can be helpful for your skill as a player, is it that I'm the only one thinking so? If not used regularly, it won't hurt your aim, it won't hurt your reflexes, it will drasticly improve your spam spot knowladge and your awareness of the game. for the wallbangs: in hltv/server you will not get as much knowladge on where the players are, how they move and exactly where to wallbang in all the places they might hide. Even if you watch hltv with cheats, you won't be able to practice straight away. I know it's not the only way to practice wallbangs and you can know them as well as a cheater without cheating. But cheating enables you to learn in 10 minutes what you might take 1 month to learn without cheating.

if you use it as a tool and don't bother anyone ok, but this mustn't be done on public servers or during a match (even at pracc). U know, calling a friend, telling him to place everywhere you want to find a spot and just trying it bothers no one, and works faster than cheating on a ffa since you can change the roundtime and try as long as you will. i wasn't saying to watch the pros shooting on hltv, but to navigate through the walls by yourself to find the spots. anyway, the most precious thing for wallbangs is not knowledge, it is... a good headset ^^ just seek your ennemy with the sound, try to shoot, and then wallbangs ability comes naturaly

Actually wall hacks(used when you are alone of course) really help a player develop a sense of depth perception. It isn't as simple as following the sound behind the wall. Especially at different elevations. :P

i agree, and actually that's what i said, i just said that wallhack should be used on an empty server with a friend who's aware you're cheating, and came to help you with your wallbangs. ofc sometimes you have to spray every possible spots before coming into a bombsite for example, and you can't do if your opponents are silent. but this is not what i call cheating since no one is really bothered by this

That wallbang ability will come way faster if you cheat in public server during a short period of time, and it's a whole lot easier than doing it with a mate. I'm just saying this because of this kind of situation: Imagine a friend of yours gets vac banned and he is known to be an inet king. People would crucify him instantly, he would be made fun of for a long time. And many people don't realise there is a kind of pub/pug cheating that will not make you kill more people while cheating (it will most likely make you kill less people than if you were not cheating = you won't bother anyone, you would frag/win more if you were not cheating), but will make you smarter and a much better player when you turn the cheats off.

it's hard to be vac-banned, if u have to find a cheat for "educational" purpose (i did it, i won't blame you; i just didn't do it on public servers, or servers vac-secured (i also cheated on public servers non-secured to see what kind of attitude reveal a cheater (turning the head by reflex when you see but don't hear a flash...))), u obviously check it's not detected, only fools are vac-banned. anyway, i still think it's better to learn more slowly than to bother everyone for that (OMG never seen so many replies in a row, we must stop here ^^')

If you refer to public servers, well, nowadays it is not like in the past where you could meet, have fun and also improve your skills. Even if the server does have admins it is funny (I think it is as it happens from time to time) to see that there are cheaters and the one who ends up banned is not cheating at all. Or admins present while cheaters are present and they are busy with Steam Chat, MSN etc. And if the cheaters are friends of the server's clan, you can imagine what you can expect. There are even server admins cheating! xD

I do not see the point where cheats help a player to be more skillfull. I mean, aimbot a program aims for you, autoshoot a program starts shooting as soon it detects an enemy also for you, wallhack a program that shows you something you are not supposed to see. On the contrary, it will make you play worse as you will not be able to use those "extras". And I agree with Bodom Child, you are bothering other players, even on pubs, who just want to play and have fun, and at a competitive level have trained hard if they take it seriously. And those players do not care if you are bored, think/know that other player(s) is/are cheating.

Might be possible :) But, as far as I know, there are too maps that feature the wallbang parts transparent. I personally do watch from time to time the wallbang videos that are available and also try some on my own (admins - 'wh spotted' xD) especially if using a category 4 weapon (besides the deagle).

I have cheated and I consider myself a lot better than many semi-pro players when it comes to knowing where the enemy is without seeing them without cheating. I know spam spots almost perfectly, and most players don't. Irregular cheating won't hurt your aim too much and won't even hurt your reflexes if used well When it comes to cheating I'm talking about box ESP. I don't consider other kinds of cheating any helpful You probably didn't see my second comment, I don't think you have to bother other people while pub cheating, you can disguise it preety well and still get advantage of it. You can turn the cheat on and off whenever you want, you can have it turned on to see how they behave behind walls and turn it off to accurately simulate your own reflexes. I'm not refering to random pub cheaters that pre-shoot, I'm not defending the kind of cheating stated in this news. I hope people don't get me wrong, I'm just saying cheating can be profitable and that you are not an idiot just because your cheated here and there, which is what most people think.

But in the end you are still using an external program to achieve something that other players have done through experience, practice and playing a lot. It is as if you are saying that you can lift heavy weights due to using from time to time steroids and perform better than others that do the same or closest possible but have achieved it without short cuts. Well, if the use of steroids only affects your practice and won't change your results in competition I have nothing against it. If it affects any part of the competitive side of weightlifting, I'm against it. The analogy you use makes no sense to me. It would only apply to what I'm saying if steroids helped you to know where to place your hands in the bar. (I hope you get what I'm saying, I'm all for cheating as a tool[the best one available] to learn spamspots/gain awareness of the game. I'm against cheating as a way to play better than other while cheating) If I can learn something in 1 hour that other players have learned in 3 months without bothering anyone or myself, I don't think that makes me a moron, and that's how I see it.

The steroids are obviously meant to increase muscle mass faster and not to know how to place the hands on the bar ;) And in terms of CS this can be applied to increasing your aim (aimbot), view (wh), reaction time (autoshoot) etc. But here in the end we are discussing about someone that did want to take advantage of other players by using a cheat in a competitive environment which you agree to be against. And, as the action of cheating does not only affect this player but also his teammates who I presume wanted to play in EPS France and try to qualify for EM etc. And I understand that by ruining these expectations he can be seen as being a moron.

You are not getting my point. I'm not commenting this situation, I think he deserves to get a life ban. I know steroid increse your muscle/fitness, that's why I think your comparison was invalid because I wasn't talking about aimbot/wallhack/whatever. I'm talking about using box ESP while your enemy is far from you. I'm talking about turning off cheats whenever you have to shoot. You seriously consider fair being able to observe another player and that player not being able to do the same? ::) You do indeed get an advantange in fragging because you know where the players are. Yes, you do not shoot at them immediately but just x minutes later xD You learn how a player moves while spectating him/her. That is why some players instead of joining a team right away, they first spend some rounds as spectators. And in a competitive environment watching demos. As to me, if you take an advantage against another player through illegal means, it is unfair :) And if you think it is right because it "shortens" your learning curve, well, if so you would have to use those cheats against every single player out there in order to know how he/she moves. And makes you just one more of the wallhackers out there (as aimbots are nowadays too obvious, just like the speedhacks) :P

Spam spot maps are nice but this one program(VAC detected so don't get any ideas guys...) called HLAE(Half-Life After Effects) which is typically used for movie making has a nice feature which lets you literally see from spawn to spawn through every wall in the map. But as far as hacks go in scrims, matches, etc. it is a terrible idea and nobody should ever resort to that. Not even for payback like Diodel tried to do in this match.

Yeah its downright shameful. n0thing used to cheat but he has long since corrected that mistake and now he is one of the best players in North America if not the world. Hopefully Diodel will come back and play clean from now on. :)

He said he had activated because his opponent were obv cheating and he didn't care since he stopped his esport career some months ago. And he played a lot of offline events where he proved he had real skill. It's a pity for his former mates. BUT, as good as he might has been he's just a fucking angry kid acting and talking like a 12 years old noob. It's quite surprising to think he played at the top with such a shit mentality & this huge lack of maturity. Hope we won't see him again because esport do not need as stupid players. And it seems that even if he did not cheat with his real team he used to do when he played mix or gather, which shows his mentality since he did not need it to win.
