Complexity outclass MIBR; advance to DreamHack Open Anaheim playoffs
Complexity secured a spot in the playoffs of DreamHack Open Anaheim by eliminating MIBR with a convincing 2-0 (16-2 Nuke, 16-9 Dust2).
The two sides met for a BO3 rematch of their opening series in Anaheim, which Complexity won 16-11 on Dust2. After the loss, MIBR bounced back with a 2-1 over ENCE, a series victory which included a surprise Nuke win by the Brazilians. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo decided to pick that map into Benjamin "blameF" Bremer's team, but it didn't work out, seeing Complexity take a straightforward victory.
Complexity put down their foot early on Nuke, starting on the CT side and picking up the pistol and then the first rifle round as well - the latter coming off of a Owen "oBo" Schlatter quad kill. The momentum snowballed and MIBR were already 8-0 down before they could get their first thanks to a Ignacio "meyern" Meyer double, but that success didn't lead to anything more for FalleN and co. who weren't able to challenge their opposition.
blameF, Valentin "poizon" Vasilev and William "RUSH" Wierzba were all on point as Complexity battened down the hatches and took round after round on the defense. The European squad closed the half 14-1, not giving away a single opening kill throughout the half, and finished the map after a T-side force buy, 16-2.

On Dust2, MIBR picked up two opening kills in the pistol, but were unable to close out the round as Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke clutched out the afterplant on B. Unlike on Nuke, MIBR were definitely contesting for rounds and getting close, but Complexity was still pulling ahead on the offense, going up 8-3 after two low-buy victories on B. Another low-buy found success in round 13, following a poizon clutch.
FalleN's men were unable to tie together two rounds for the whole defensive half, finishing it 10-5 down, and the trend continued after the switch. Winning the pistol was followed up by a fumbled 5v4 anti-force and any chance of a comeback was lost by MIBR. Complexity edged out a couple of retakes on A to swiftly reach match point, 15-7, with k0nfig putting in an impressive performance. MIBR hung in for a bit, but the game as closed out, 16-9, after their B split was dismantled by oBo and poizon.
