Immunity confirm new CS team

Team Immunity have confirmed their return to Counter-Strike with the acquisition of the FeelThePower squad.

Immunity had been without a Counter-Strike team since the disbandment of their previous roster in May after disappointing campaigns at ESWC Masters and KODE5 Global Finals.

It had been suggested for the past days that Immunity were keeping close tabs on FeelThePower, and the move has now been made official by the Australian organisation.

However, it will not come without a roster change, as Andrew "nameci" Luong, who has played for the likes of invulnerability and khemistry in the past, will fill the shoes of Theodore "teddyt" Mutanto.

"Tony [Immunity leader] contacted me over a week ago telling me that he was interested in having another team cs team for the upcoming WCG qualifiers," Fergus "ferg" Stephenson told HLTV.org. "I gladly accepted the offer seeing as immunity is one of the only semi-proffesional teams with enough funds to fly teams nationaly and internationaly comfortably.
"Tony and I have gotten along real well ever since i first joined the organisation for WCG 2008 and he allowed me to build a team for WCG 09.
"Unfortunately, teddyt is a great player but was recently caught cheating in a game, which means his reputation isn't too commended in Australia.
"Immunity as an organisation couldn't accept him to be a part of the lineup, so instead we took iceman (nameci) whos been around for a long time in the melbourne CS scene and has enough experience to take part in our core 5 lineup and meet to standards."

Immunity will make their first appearance at the Melbourne WCG pre-qualifier this weekend, where they will feature the following line-up:

Fergus "ferg" Stephenson
Mark "deStiny" Kagan
Gareth "gazR" Lynn
Trong "Snoopy" Cheung
Andrew "nameci" Luong

The line up for the pre-qualifier for GUTS is: GUTS - bl4nk, dave, gamz, benoR, oops Same oops as the one who played with real, also immunity received 4th seed so it should be interesting :D.

Agreed... Benor has a lot of potential but just does not get overseas enough to get the experience he needs to compete at an international level and just never gets his chance to shine(like most good Australian players I can remember, including apoc).

Weird as this is not covered by WCG rules of 2009 at all, nor has it ever been. (at least after '07)... ooPS was my favorite player and still is.

That you have to be an Australian citizen to play in the Australian WCG Qualifier, or any <nationality> for that matter...

The WCG rules say that the team have to consist of 5 players from the country that they "play for". Why do you think mousesports refrain from using gob b for the WCG qualifier? Or why don't EG use lurppis in their WCG qualifier?

They need Benor. :( It woulda been great to see him on an organization that him take him overseas because in all honesty I don't think the Australian scene gets enough credit. Australia really has had a lot of good players like apoc who I would go as far as saying is as good as n0thing but they never got the chance to develop due to lack of sponsors and not being able to find the right organization. :(

wooaw i see a lot of australian agree about the presence of ferg on the "best aus lineup". I hope aus player know ferg learned CS in France :PpPpPp. ( not totally, ok. ) But, he did some goods things playing in france. GL Immunity, go WCG!
