Electronic Sports League has announced that their Global Challenge will be returning to Dubai.
The first ever Global Challenge in Dubai took place in the third season of Extreme Masters. The event attracted close to all top teams, which turned out to be a very exciting event. The Germans from mousesports captured the trophy, while the Polish team, at the time known as MYM, took second.
Global Challenge will now return to Dubai and the Gitex Shopper expo, where the first event also took place. The event will take place 17-24th of October at the Gitex Shopper expo. Last year we saw a local qualifier, where teams from the United Arab Emirates had a chance to qualify for the main tournament. A local qualifier for this year’s event will however not take place.
The event will see teams compete for a total prize purse of $30.000, just two weeks after the Global Challenge in Chengdu. Stay tuned for more regarding the Global Challenge in Dubai, as we will keep you updated as soon as teams have been confirmed for the event.
Well saying I live here is a bit too general, as almost everyone is typing from home.
I know you meant to say you lived in dubai as well, but that's not what you wrote and it was quite fun :P

what's the sense of making event in Dubai if they gonna invite top teams and wont make qualify for local teams? isnt easier to make it in again europe?

Yeah it does seem like such a huge shame though. But at least now the local teams will have even more to work for and look forward to if they can make it far! :D
