ImAPet: "No secret that my relationship with stanislaw and tarik was absolutely horrendous"

Former Evil Geniuses coach Chet "⁠Chet⁠" Singh has confirmed that a breakdown in his relationship with Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz and Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik led to his departure from the team.

The North American coach was on Saturday relieved of his duties after nearly two years in charge, during which he took the team to new heights, including a brief stint at No.1 in the world rankings in the Fall of 2019.

Evil Geniuses won ESL One New York and StarSeries i-League Season 8 under his watch, but results haven't gone their way since then. They currently sit at No.7 in the world rankings and failed to make it out of the groups in their first two LAN events of the year, BLAST Premier Spring Series and IEM Katowice.

In a Twitlonger post, Chet admitted that his relationship with stanislaw and tarik was always tense and revealed that he was pushing for an overhaul of the squad.

"It’s no secret my relationship with Stan and tarik was absolutely horrendous," he wrote. "I don’t know what I could trust from them in multiple 1on1s, nor did I agree with how we were changing the team strategically when we were all discussing the direction we needed to take to improve our consistency.

"There was a lot of hypocrisy on the team on certain cultural beliefs and views on the game. Opinions were literally changing every day, to a point where we weren’t even anti-stratting T sides anymore after a certain tournament, which I will never agree with ever again.

"I had my changes I wanted to make and ultimately they didn’t happen and here we are now."

Chet, who admitted that "there is definitely a lot more" that he will keep "behind closed doors for now", omitted stanislaw and tarik as he mentioned the players he coached during his two-year reign that he "will forever miss".

He added that he is currently looking for offers from any region and that he believes he can make "significant improvements" to any team that he joins.
