ESEA postpones MDL Global Challenge Season 33
ESEA has announced details regarding the postponement of the MDL Global Challenge event, which was originally planned to be held in April, with three spots in ESL Pro League Season 12 on offer.
In its announcement, ESEA revealed that it is aiming for the Global Challenge to be held sometime during Season 34 — which will not have a Global Challenge event of its own due to being a training season — and before the start of ESL Pro League Season 12, in September.
The announcement adds to a long list of tournaments that have been postponed or canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, with travel restrictions and health and safety concerns leaving the fate of offline events up in the air for the near future.

Due to the almost five-month-long delay, ESEA has revised its roster restrictions for the eight teams who will be competing in the event, allowing them to add up to two additional members to their roster. The change offers a lifeline of support to teams like Triumph, who recently lost Logan "Voltage" Long to Chaos and parted ways with Peter "Asuna" Mazuryk.
Teams competing in the Global Challenge will be able to opt out of Season 34 due to the overlapping schedule without the risk of losing their spot in Season 35 if they fail to qualify for ESL Pro League.
As a reminder, the eight teams who have earned spots in MDL Global Challenge Season 33 are:

Jonathan 'Jonji' Carey
Hong-Gyo 'Jinx' Jung
Tomáš 'oskar' Šťastný
