Dignitas to play Elisa Invitational

Dignitas has become the fourth and last team invited to Elisa Invitational, the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown Europe qualifier for Nordic countries.

Three teams from three different Nordic countries had previously been invited to Elisa Invitational, the region's BLAST Premier Spring Showdown Europe qualifier: ENCE, North and Nordavind. Dignitas have now been confirmed by the organizer as the fourth and final invite.

The Nordic qualifier will mark Dignitas' return to activity in Europe where they had successful runs in the Europe Minor's open and closed qualifiers online before moving to Los Angeles to play Flashpoint 1, where they finished in an underwhelming tenth place trailed only by Envy and Copenhagen Flames, albeit with Ladislav "⁠GuardiaN⁠" Kovács as a stand-in.

Other than the four invited teams, two teams have already secured a spot at the Elisa Invitational through national qualifiers, Apeks in Norway and KOVA in Finland, while two more invites will be given out to teams in Sweden and Denmark.

The eight-team tournament will play out online on April 30 - May 3 and will have two spots on offer for the top finishers, who will proceed to the European division of BLAST Premier Spring Showdown. Originally meant to be played on LAN, the event was split into Europe and North America and moved online due to the current coronavirus pandemic.

The two teams to make it through will have nearly a month between the qualifier and the Showdown itself, which is to be played online at the end of May and beginning of June. There, they will face Astralis, Vitality, Ninjas in Pyjamas, three invited teams yet to be revealed, and the winners of the CIS and Iberian qualifiers.
