OG, Virtus.pro, Spirit headline team list for Hellcase Cup 8

StarLadder has announced three out of the four headlining teams for the upcoming Hellcase Cup 8 in OG, Virtus.pro and Spirit.

The eighth iteration of the Hellcase Cup will consist of an initial $10,000 prize pool, plus added money "crowdfunded from the purchase of special cases" on the Hellcase website. The previous edition of the online tournament series, which was won by AVANGAR, reached almost $60,000 for its competitors.

Hellcase Cup 8 has opened its doors to any teams wishing to sign up for the open qualifier, in which four spots in the tournament's group stage will be up for grabs.

OG are the highest-ranked side in attendance

The group stage will be played from May 18 through June 14, featuring 12 invited sides and the four qualified teams. The participants will battle it out across four double-elimination groups, with each group containing three invited teams with one qualified side.

The four winners of the group stage will progress to a double-elimination, best-of-three playoff bracket, where they will face off against an additional four invited teams for the title of HellCase Cup champions from June 23-28.
