Dignitas fe add Bouchard on trial

Dignitas fe have announced the addition of Julie "Bouchard" Bouchard on a trial basis, with the 24-year-old taking the place of Carolyn "artStar" Noquez on the team's active roster.

The former ANEW player has already taken part in a number of matches for Dignitas fe, playing in the Fragadelphia Online: Social Distancing tournament as well as in the team's first three matches in the North American division of ESEA Main Season 34, where they currently hold a 1-2 record.

In their announcement, the organization revealed that Bouchard would remain on trial with Dignitas fe for the remainder of the ESEA season, while news on artStar's future would be forthcoming.

Bouchard has linked up with Dignitas fe on a trial basis

artStar took to Twitter herself to announce that she was no longer playing with Dignitas fe, before adding that it was time for her "to venture out into bigger things" and that there are "exciting things planned."

Her departure marks the end of a six-year-long run alongside Emmalee "EMUHLEET" Garrido and Amanda "rain" Smith, with the trio uniting in 2014 on Karma — a roster which would go on to briefly represent Selfless fe before making its way to Dignitas fe in 2017.

With the change, Dignitas fe's roster looks as follows:

United States Emmalee "EMUHLEET" Garrido
Canada Amanda "rain" Smith
United States Kiara "m1lky" Makua
United States Melisa "Theia" Mundorff
Canada Julie "Bouchard" Bouchard (trial)

France David "Xp3" Garrido (coach)

Not enough of them. The amount of women to men in the cs:go community is probably somewhere near 1-10000, even higher for women who actually stick around

That's true, even in the most casual level the situation is no better than that. I only have one girl friend who plays cs:go, and although she enjoys the game a lot, she is also pretty awful at it because she gets nervous in any pressure situation, a shame.

I doubt it's 1:10000, but its still ridiculously male dominated with a female:male ratio like 1:100. I also think the female players are more casual in nature.

This is probably true. But I think it's only a matter of time before we get some 15 year old girl who grew up with the game that is absolutely insane, actually able to compete in t3-t2 cs

There are probably already a few female players that could if they were to play with men for an extensive amount of time and got to go to a lot of events where they would play against real competition.

I think it was di^ that played in NA MDL for a while, and did pretty well. I imagine that there's way more money in top level fe cs, then some random mdl teams though

Cause there aren't as many females playing CS so the chances of a full on 5er team of them to ba as good as a good make team is just not there. Plus just think about it they don't even make nearly as much as make teams so why would you even go fully pro and not rather study on the side or something. The only real chance a female has if she actually wants to go pro would be to play for a male team imo and I am not sure if a male team would want a girl

The economic stand point is true, but that could be easily solved if women's level was good enough to play in mixed teams with men, then there would be no excuse not to pay the same salaries (more or less) to each pro. "I am not sure if a male team would want a girl", I mean... If she has the skill required why not? There might be an obvious cont to it but I don't see it rn. Esports for me is the perfect competition where men and women can cooperate in mixed teams at the top level... If a woman can play up to the standards that is.

The problem with one girl playing in a male team is that if they don't fully respect her it could just end in them not playing good together plus it could also end in them " fighting " over the girl depending on the guys of course. I mean not everyone is a horndog ^^

That's a bit caveman-ish mentality. I would forbid any relationship within any pro team and that takes care of that. In my head I don't picture most pros in top 20 being so unprofessional tbh

This is interesting, but I would love to see a more extensive research that includes other sports (and is made more recent than 2008 lol). Maybe is due biological reasons, or is it maybe related to the quality of their training? Or maybe related to their psychology?

I already found other researches, I just provided one for you now. 2008 is not old for a study related to our bodies, the accuracy we had at that time was enough to point out differences. They took athletes from a high level, on purpose. They are professional so the training has nothing to do with it, or at least, it should affect all the athletes but only a few. Psychology? Make your point clearer on that one, but I blindy would answer the same as for the training part. If there was some barrier created in one specific person, it should have affected the results in some ways.

True, it's not old at all. Yes, I can see that. What I mean is how hormones affect our psychology, men are more impulsive/aggressive due their testosterone for example.

Oh. That's a valid point as well but as the source of the steam is hormonal, I'd put it directly in the biological difference rather than in a psychological one. I see the impulsive/aggressive behaviour as a consequence of a biological stimulus, the visible top of the iceberg.

Yeah, men maybe have a higher competitive drive due to that aspect of their biology also fueled by the masculine stereotypes that most societies idolizes. Edit: #165 says something similar

Interesting discussion. To add, and I don't want to generalize this, but I think psychology is a big one on this. An example? Sure, here is one: Panic somewhere, be it in a nightclub, on a festival, in a bar, on the streets. 90% of the men are running away, right? Now, how many women/girls will start screaming before everything else? Why do they start screaming? Because of the stress or because they don't have anything better to to at that moment? The ones that aren't screaming like crazy are with the 10% of the men who weren't running (majority of this group is probably 'nailed to the ground' and can't do anything). Also it was mentioned earlier that women would be partyly paralized because of getting too nervous when in high stress situation. Sure, there's men also with this problem (chokes are a thing + some people just never can clutch because they are too nervous and that might a reason why they don't make it to pro level). Again, I am not sexist, but most girls/women can get nervous during watching a movie on TV that isn't even creepy but their imagination makes it creepy and they start freaking out just because of that. So imagine putting somebody like that into a game where they get nervous when she feels they are coming at her spot, add the stress of seeing that her teammates are falling alongside her. Whatever gender you are, at this point, you know you are screwed but you try to make the best of it and I'm sure there are females that can. But I think that the majority of them will just freak out and close their eyes/release hands from keyboard/mouse/freeze. The minority are the fierce b*tches out there who will stand their ground no matter what (either because they know how the game works and can handle it or they have a strong psychological mindset in and outside a game) and thank god for the last group because when you've got one of those… Well, you're set! So TL;DR: I think psychology is a bigger factor than you think. Psychology is also not always seperated from physiology.

Your point is really interesting. Although, in my opinion, it's a bit out of the topic. I mean, here we were talking about equal ability or not to reach a certain level. Chocking, even if it might be more often in the female gender than the male, there are women that can stand towards those situations so if they can stand, the psychological barrier is out of the way and they would reach the same level as men, which they won't because of the biological differences. There was a topic, a couple of months ago, about a trans that was a great prospect and was saying that females can beat men. I found it quite funny because, no matter how you feel in your mind, your body, there are physiological elements that are there no matter what so her position was clearly unfair towards women.

Its unprofitable, but they all probably stream and have some sorts of following in social media to advertise whatever produts. Adding these factors probably becomes profitable or breakeven if dignitas have those % cuts in the contract

I'd be more inclined to say that DIG is such a widespread organisation with such deep pockets that they can afford pay the female team at a loss regardless. It's not like the costs are massive, they are playing lower-tier tournaments that don't cost a lot to play, basically just travel expenses is my guess.

I don't get how fem "pros" ain't ashamed of themselves getting paid for being absolute dog shit in this game just because they don't have a dong between their legs. Far from equality aswell. If you have what it takes to be a pro then by all means join a top team and prove it, but this whole "female scene" where the level is not even adequate for GE MM is ridiculous. This is not a physical sport, there is absolutely no reason for not having mixed teams. You just don't have what it takes, and you're getting paid out of pity and not getting talked shit about because everyone is scared not to hurt your feelings because you're female. I'm sure I'm getting a ban for this message (since talking bad about females is a capital offense) but I literally can't keep this shit in anymore, this is so fucking stupid.

To be fair, we are in the entertainment business and if you are likable and can attract fans, then you can get sponsors. A lot of talented people are the opposite - not likable, not able to attract fans and thus have a harder time finding sponsors. In many ways your reputation and character means a lot more than the results you produce.

I am a woman - and I agree with almost everything you wrote, except I do think women have the ability to be just as good as any man in esport, IF they put the same work and dedication into it as males I really think girls/women should up their game - it's cringeworthy to see a woman with these stats even being mentioned in an article on hltv Rating 2.0 0.85 KAST 66.4% Way to do it: Work for it! Ask anyone better than you for advice how to improve. Train harder. Force yourself into teams with better players and work your a** of to get just a good as them Or don't try at all (the thread f*male cs got deleted - bs!)

IF. That's the thing. Nobody hates on female CS because it's women playing, but because the competitors are absolute dogshit. Female teams can participate in any tournaments and female players can play in normal teams (Astralis, FaZe, Liquid), but what they choose to do is complain and seem pathetic. If a female competitor would join Astralis and she is good enough, good for her, kick ass and get top 1, but there isn't that level of dedication as you said.
