DreamHack confirmed at Expo 2010

The organisation behind DreamHack has confirmed the famous LAN party will be represented at Expo 2010 in Shanghai.

DreamHack has been confirmed as an official sponsor and part of the Swedish pavilion at the 2010 Expo, held in Shanghai, the country's largest city, from May 1 through to October 31.

At Sweden's pavilion, DreamHack will stage the finals of the Chinese qualifiers for DreamHack Summer 2010 and provide a number of activities "for the digital youth culture with a focus on Chinese and Swedish youths."

"To be part of World Expo 2010 is a great opportunity for us at Dreamhack to further develop our already good relations with businesses and young people in Asia," said DreamHack CEO David Garpenståhl.

"Already in the autumn we arrange our first activities in Asia and at World Expo 2010 we have a unique opportunity to showcase Swedish youth culture and forging strong links between people across national borders."

"Todays news" is a little misleading, it is actually the news within 24 hours, since most news happen from 19-24 todays news didn't make much sense, as news would quickly filter down.. But yea the news guys are doing a great job.. :)

A question for you, I haven't been here this week at all, and this is the earliest news post I can see. How do I get access to prior news?

Great news from DH to see things being held in more and more culturally rich places. To think this all began from a pre-CPL LAN in a basement called The Frag. Kudos DH and keep up the good work your events! Great idea on introducing the E-sports industry to a new generation. :)

Went to Expo 2008 when it was in Zaragosa, Spain. It was really cool :) I think volvo and ikea did something for sweden then.. cant remember. I also think it's quite unusual that companies represent countries at Expo but I guess it's because we're a quite small country.
